Winston Preparatory School
Greetings!

As winter break is approaching and snowy weather is being predicted, we would like to remind you of our policies regarding school delays and closings. WPS follows Norwalk Public School decisions regarding early dismissals, delays and closings. However, due to variability in conditions based upon location, please make individual decisions regarding your child's attendance and dismissal time.

We would like to thank you for supporting the Gardening Club by purchasing poinsettias for $5 yesterday.  The $110 raised will be used towards gardening supplies and equipment.  Thank you also to Alicia Gerbert for donating the beautiful poinsettias!

Students were surprised and excited for our guest speaker on Tuesday, Marlins Pitcher, Tom Koehler! Tom spoke about team work, dedication, and overcoming challenges. Students had the opportunity to receive a signed photo of Tom and participate in an all school photo.  Pictures to be posted online shortly.

Thank you also to Dr. Decker for visiting with students on Wednesday and discussing his career as a neurologist. Students enjoyed hearing about the various steps to take in pursuing a career in medicine and the areas of specialty in neurology.

We hope you are finishing up your holiday shopping and looking forward to a warm and cozy weekend!

Happy Holidays,

'Helping Hands' Community Service

December Events

Safe Home, Warm Clothes Drive, and Notre Dame Convalescent Home

Donation drop-off for the Safe Home and Warm Clothes Drive has begun and will run until Tuesday, December 21st.

Our 'Safe Home' School - Wide Project will benefit the Center for Women and Families of Bridgeport! Community Service students toured the 3 family home in Bridgeport on Wednesday, December 8th and learned about how this home will be a 'safe place' for the Women and Families of Bridgeport. We have already received many donations and are looking forward to what is to come!

Donations have been organized by classes:
Delta/Eta: Kitchen Items
Gamma/Sigma: Bedroom Items
Omega/Zeta: Bathroom Items
Kappa/Pi: Living Room Items

'Helping Hands' continues to visit the Notre Dame Convalescent Home in Norwalk every Monday afternoon. Students have been working on a 'December collage' with the residents including pictures of holiday wreaths, creative snowflakes, and colorful drawings about their favorite memories from December. There will be an upcoming visit including caroling and a drop off of holiday cards created by 'Helping Hands' members.
