Dear Colleagues,
This past year, the capacity of our core residential recovery services has grown by seventy-percent. It has been a busy year and we have strived with each expansion to better serve individuals recovering from serious mental illness.
Today I am highlighting one of these expansions: the opening of 'No.9 House', a complementary, long-term residential program on our farm, which will be available on May 1st, 2011. The development of this option came after we purchased a wooded 15 acres abutting our farm center, adding not only more land but a stately log home, pictured in the accompanying attachment.
With the No. 9 House, we are able to offer a unique opportunity for three individuals for whom recovery is a slower, more complicated journey. Most of our residents move through our programs within 6-9 months. The No.9 House will accommodate those whose recovery requires more time.
It is the mission of the No.9 House to create a private, supportive home environment for 3 individuals who face persistent challenges with their mental illness. With 24/7 live-in staff and participation in the community and Life Skills program, the residents at No.9 will not languish. They will be included, cared for, and challenged to continue to meet goals.
I reach out to you today to ask: Do you know of someone who may benefit from this nurturing environment?
