Winners of 27th Annual NC Holiday Flotilla and Fireworks
It ended with a spectacular bang Saturday night at Wrightsville Beach! 27 minutes of fireworks; one minute for every year the NC Holiday Flotilla sponsored its lighted boat parade in Wrightsville Beach harbor. The fireworks finale was incredible and visible for many miles!
An estimated 50,000 people who visited the town over Thanksgiving weekend were entertained by a wide variety of family activities.
At sundown Saturday, the lighted Holiday Flotilla paraded down the Intracoastal Waterway, Motts Channel and Banks Channel. The captains slowed down, performed a 360 degree turn, and gave their best show in front of the judges stand at the Blockade Runner Beach Resort. The parade route ended at the U.S. Coast Guard Station Wrightsville Beach.
