Outdoor 'Family Movie Night' at Wrightsville Premiers Wednesday, July 7

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, N.C.  - On Wednesday, July 7 at 8:30 p.m., the green carpet will roll out for families with kids, and coolers, to picnic on the lawn beneath the big screen in Wrightsville Beach Park. Family Movie Night revives the cinematic tradition established on the Wrightsville strand at Lumina Pavilion when outdoor movies were screened at the surf almost a century ago.

Suspense thrillers, action, comedies, surf flicks and trailers---  In all, six weeks of summer movies begins July 7 and continues through August 11. Family Movie Night at Wrightsville Beach Park is sponsored by area churches, merchants and the town of Wrightsville Beach.

When the stars come out, it's show time!

Admission is free. Parking is free. Popcorn, soda, candy and Kohl's frozen custard will be sold. Vito's Pizza will deliver. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted. In the event of stormy weather, the movie will be cancelled.
