Here's a word study:
grad·u·a·tion [graj-oo-ey-shuhn] noun
1. an act of graduating; the state of being graduated.
2. the ceremony of conferring degrees or diplomas, as at a college or school.
3. arrangement in degrees, levels, or ranks.
Origin:
1375-1425; late Middle English graduacion < Medieval Latin graduātiōn- (stem of graduātiō ).
We share in the pride of our UIM families celebrating graduations this year. Graduation from High School and/or college represents many long hours, days and years of intense effort, at so many levels. Late nights and early mornings, strained bodies and minds. Relationship built, broken, renewed and released. All with a hearty and celebratory, "Way to go, you made it!" Often immediately followed by, "What's next?"
Accomplishments always lead to "the next thing." Gradually, and often unexpectedly, we progress to the next thing in our life and our journey of faith. As the word graduation implies, life is a step by step process, with perhaps an occasional leap here or sprint there. It is primarily a gradual walk of faith.
We would urge you to use the opportunity of this UIM Connection! to connect with a grad close to you, to speak a word of praise and encouragement as they move on to the next thing.
We pray that "the next thing," for our UIM MKs will be a life of continuing growth and service for our Lord Jesus Christ. We are wishing you, "All the best!"
We are proud of you, and praise the Lord for you!
