December 2011

Dear Faithful friend,

Amazing. Remarkable. Memorable. All these words describe the kind of year we have had in UIM International.  We celebrated fifty-five years of ministry, of God's amazing grace and faithfulness.

As 2012 looms on the horizon, we are looking beyond our fifty-five years to what the Lord has in store for His unfolding grace and glory.  Perhaps the Lord will return in 2012.  Perhaps He will choose to grant extended grace, "not willing that any should perish."  We want to be in a position to reach the masses of North America effectively and aggressively.

UIM International is a ministry of stewardship--a stewardship of the Gospel, making clear the person and work of Christ Jesus the Lord, who died for the sin of the world that those drawn to Him by grace through faith might have eternal life.

UIM International is a ministry of stewardship--a stewardship of precious lives growing in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; indigenous leadership in Canada, the United States, and Mexico; establishment of local church ministries; and equipping of saints to do the work of the ministry.

UIM International is a ministry of stewardship-a stewardship of God's people giving to supply and sustain this ministry.  As this year draws to a close and before the New Year dawns, would you consider a special financial gift?  Pray and partner with us as we reach and teach First Nations, Native American, Hispanic, and Mexican people and train them in the message and ministry of God's grace in Christ Jesus.

With your partnership, 2012 and beyond can be amazing, remarkable, and memorable.  We fully expect the Lord to meet our every need as we faithfully serve and look expectantly for His glorious return!

It is my joy and privilege, week by week and month by month, to give leadership, learn, pray about, and promote praise for all that is being accomplished by the Spirit of God and His Word through the faithful servants that comprise UIM International.  I praise the Lord for you as you faithfully pray and sustain this ministry.  Let all be done to the praise and glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let me thank you ahead of time for your special gift as we bring 2011 to a close and look ahead to 2012 and beyond!

Have a blessed Christ-exalting season,

2011 Year-End Giving Opportunity

Children

In 2011 UIM International celebrated its 55th anniversary all because of God's faithfulness.  UIM now serves in three countries-Canada, United States and Mexico.

Native churches have been established over the years and are now functioning in their own culture.  Three youth camps, Rock Nest Ranch in British Columbia, Canada, Broken Arrow Bible Ranch in Gallup, New Mexico, and Alpha & Omega Bible Camp in Mexico have had over 15,000 youth attend and thousands making decisions to accept Christ into their life.  Some are now pastors and leaders in the Native churches.

UIM's Aviation ministry has provided much-needed flight services allowing missionaries to travel more effectively to remote areas of Mexico and the United States. Many flights provide emergency transportation and medical attention.

Because of faithful prayers and financial contributions of God's people these 55 years, many Native people have been saved, discipled, and trained to reach their own.

UIM's vision for 2012 has not changed, but there is a large increase in requests to provide missionaries, services and training to Native peoples.  We can accomplish this only through more staff and the use of modern technology.

Your end-of-the-year gift can help make this all possible.  Please pray about being partners with UIM in the ministry of reaching the lost for Christ.

It is well known that the ministries of UIM International stretch across North America, from British Columbia, Canada, to Quebec, across the United States and from northern to southern Mexico.  Indigenous churches are being established and we engage in evangelism and discipleship efforts, camping ministries, Bible institutes and discipleship centers, Theological Education by Extension (TEE), and more.

UIM is also known for supporting all these efforts as it incorporates a strategic aviation ministry and support ministries of automobile services, printing, mailing and financial accountability--all with the highest of standards.

There is a little-known ministry in UIM International. It takes place at the UIM Glendale, Arizona, facilities.

There is a very special day at UIM each week.  Tuesday is Kids' Club day.  The Gospel of Jesus Christ is lovingly shared with the multicultural mix of children that lives in the apartments and trailer court complexes that surround the UIM Glendale property.

Most of these precious little ones come from less than stable home environments.  This is evident in behavior and language that could frustrate and embarrass any seasoned teacher, making this ministry more important and challenging than ever.  Still, unabated, we pray weekly that out of this weekly ministry one day will emerge believers in our Lord Jesus and godly families that transform the culture to the glory of God.

Your connection with UIM International is making this possible.  As you pray and give, we persistently declare the wonderful message of our Savior's love and grace.ctur

Girls and More Girls!

"Miss Janelle, can we go hiking today?"  "Miss Juanita, what are we having for snacks?"  Those questions and the sudden increase of activity in my living room indicate that the girls have arrived for girls' club, a ministry that Janelle Maycumber and I (Juanita Fike) began about six years ago.  We've hiked in the national forest, cooked and baked, toured homes on a mobile home lot, played games, done a variety of crafts, and created hand books containing material from our lessons.

Sharing the truths of God's Word and introducing the girls to Jesus Christ have been our goals.  We've used a variety of lessons, including New Tribes Mission's Creation to Christ  series for children.  Some of the girls have asked very pertinent questions related to the truths they've heard; a couple of them have professed faith in Christ!

Some of the original group have moved away, and the majority of those who remain are now teens, so this fall we "graduated" them to a teen club and began another club for younger girls.  The teens are studying Lies Young Women Believe by Nancy DeMoss and Dannah Gresh; the younger girls are using the DVD series The Lamb by John R. Cross.

The highlight of each year is the Christmas party with the girls and their moms  (or grandmother or other female guardian).  Our traditional "soup supper" is followed by games, giving of small gifts, and a devotional.  For most of the adults, who are more attuned to traditional Native beliefs than to Christianity, this is likely their only exposure to God's Truth.  Pray that the Holy Spirit will use the truths to bring them to Christ.
