On the Road Again...and Up, Up and Away!
From the state of "missions" as the record shows in the New Testament to our very day in this "modern era," travel has been an essential component. As soon as the Holy Spirit tapped Barnabas and Saul in Acts 13, and having been affirmed and commissioned by the church at Anitoch, they "set sail." "So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus" (Acts 13:4).
Numerous other travels can be documented. Paul's round-trip miles on his "first missionary journey" were estimated at around 2800 miles, through leading cities of the Eastern Mediterranean world. His second journey was estimated at 1400 miles and his third journey at about 3200 miles. Paul traveled throughout the land of Israel, across Turkey and Greece, and, finally, across the Adriatic Sea to the empire's capital city, Rome. He traveled on foot, by boat, and even once in a basket! Paul's travels were neither easy nor safe. Sea travel was dangerous in the first century. Paul himself told of being shipwrecked three times.
Not much has changed. To accomplish the task of taking the Gospel to others requires a willing commitment to travel-across the street or around the world. In UIM International, we too must travel. To accomplish this we maintain an active auto repair and maintenance ministry from our facilities in Glendale, AZ. Our auto service ministry saves literally thousands of dollars in parts and service fees. We also have a vital aviation ministry based at Ryan Field in Tucson, AZ. Our pilots and mechanics are among the best in the industry of mission aviation. Our aviators save hundreds of hours in travel time.
We are getting it done! We keep our missionaries on the road and in the air, reaching Native, Mexican, and Hispanic peoples of North America with the saving message of Jesus Christ.
If you have expertise in auto mechanics or aviation, feel free to connect with us and become a partner or join our mission family. I ask you to connect with our "transportation ministries." Aviation is an expensive endeavor. Safety is our highest priority. Please consider a special gift to our HOME Project. The Hanger Operating Ministry Expense project is an excellent way to connect with UIM International in a practical and significant way.
Gentlemen, start your engines!
Clear! Contact!
Happy trails!
Keeping Connected!
In Christ Jesus,
Dan Fredericks, Executive Director UIM International

Special Delivery to Las Moras, Mexico
Recently, David Wolf, with his wife Olivia in the passenger seat, flew to Las Moras, Mexico, a village between Durango and Tepic. The purpose was to drop supplies to a team of five missionaries. Due to extremely heavy rains in the area, the missionaries in Las Moras had not gotten mail or supplies since they drove their trucks into the remote village in May. Roads are closed to vehicles of any size. In September a tribal consultant team from Chihuahua was suppose to drive in because the airstrip is not registered, but their trip was cancelled since the roads were too washed out and there were trees blocking their way. The only way to get supplies to them was by airplane.
David and Olivia made the drop on a Sunday afternoon. In the morning of the day of the drop, the weather was again bad. The five missionaries prayed for the weather to clear and God cleared the way for the air-drop! Olivia said their smiles were worth a thousand words. The missionaries said opening up the mail and packages was better than Christmas! About an hour later after the air-drop, the clouds rolled in again and it began to rain. The drop was a huge encouragement to the five missionaries. Olivia has since received e-mails from them thanking them for the packages and for UIM's pilots and mechanics that keep the planes in the air. Because of the faithful service of the men who maintain the planes at the hangar, pilots like David Wolf are able to do these kinds of missions. Please pray for the safety of David and Olivia. David is flying each day into some very short and rugged airstrips.
