UIM Connection!
August 11, 2010
We've just completed a week of encouragement and biblical instruction, equipping for greater effectiveness in ministry.

The setting was at 7200 feet in Northwest New Mexico, at Broken Arrow Bible Ranch, UIM's camping ministry for Native youth.  Many of our UIM missionary staff from across the U.S. and Mexico gathered to share personal reports on what God is doing...lives reached and changed by the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul Seger, General Director of Biblical Ministries Worldwide, spoke on the theme of Leadership and Intercession.  The four sessions were timely as well as strategic.

In addition to biblical instruction focusing on leadership training, opportunity was also provided for individual staff meetings.  Mexico, Southwest U.S., Greater U.S., and UIM Aviation staff met to focus on their respective and specific areas of ministry.

Our UIM Canadian staff met early in the summer, in their region of beautiful British Columbia.  Our additional Mexico staff will be gathering later in August, in Mexico, for further focus on the opportunities and challenges of greater Mexico.

Thank you for praying for UIM's ever-expanding ministries throughout Canada, the United States and Mexico!

Stay connected for more reports on what God is doing in reaching the First Nations, Native American, Hispanic and Mexican peoples of North America!

Truth Baptist Church, Tahlequah, Oklahoma

For fifteen years, Phil and Linda Benedict have lived among the Indian people of northeast Oklahoma.  They have seen a shallowness that reflects a lack of understanding in the Word of God and only a surface level commitment to putting it into practice. There is a woeful lack of commitment to understanding and applying the Word of God, and there is a woeful lack of Godly men to lead them.  Yet, in the churches there are a few who want to be taught and who want to be productive servants of the Lord Jesus Christ.

This is precisely the situation that has led Keith and Susanna Marler and Phil and Linda to start a new church, geared to correctly teaching and practicing the Word of God, and then to use it as a training center to train Indian pastors, teachers, and others.  It started in the fall of 2009 and is being called Truth Baptist Church. Both couples have been busy visiting neighborhoods, holding Bible clubs, ministering to the church ladies and working on the church library.  They are praising the Lord that during Vacation Bible School and Bible clubs this year, 13 children professed faith in Jesus Christ.

Please pray that God will open up the right ministry doors and bring qualified teachers to the church.
