Make a Fairy Garden

A couple of weeks ago, we visited Mellie Mac's Garden Shack, in Black Mountain, where Mellie helped us make a beautiful fairy garden. You can make one, too. Take your container on over to Mellie Mac's- she has everything else you need on hand.
It's a fun, quick project. If you want to make one at home, you'll need:
- container
- gravel
- soil
- a few small plants
- whatever garden furnishings you think the fairies will enjoy

What Makes You Angry?

Look, I'm no Jerry Springer. I'm not trying to get you riled up into a shouting match. That just seems like a way to raise your blood pressure.
But - so many issues, so little time! We don't want to vent, we do want to change the world, too much to do, where do we start? Talking about the things that make us angry can relieve tension, build community and, sometimes, actually lead to solutions. That's why I want to know what makes you angry.
I'll go first. I'm mad that the more I try to get away from my computer, the more time I seem to be spending on it (or in it, it feels like...) - like I'm caught in a weird dream sequence maze, and I keep ending up back here. I feel trapped! Let me out!
AND...
Our society needs to know that, even if you pretend really hard that mental illness doesn't exist, that won't make it go away. There will still be a lot of people around who need help and have nowhere to go.
Okay, that's what I'm thinking. How about you?

March 3 at 6 pm: Come to the 7th Fabulous Annual Auction for the Arts at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts! We love this event! You're supporting the arts, buying local and having fun all at once. Rollicking live auction as well as a silent auction of fine art, jewelry, vacations, services and gift certificates, accompanied by delicious hors d'oeuvres, wine and desserts - all included in your $22.50 ticket ($25 day of event).
