2011 Almanac
2011 Almanac Cover | It's on its way... The 2011 Almanac will be available in early November. This is a labor of love for me; I believe in its quiet importance, and I'm gratified to find that so many others are finding value in it as well.
The price has been reduced on the 2010 Almanac- and we still have a whole season of 2010 to enjoy! Check it online.

If you love books...
From My House of Cards | Be sure to attend the 2010 BookOpolis Weekend, coming up on September 24-25 at Asheville BookWorks. Prepare to be amazed and delighted as you browse through this international exhibition of book arts! This year's exhibit contains over 100 entries.
I'll have 2 pieces in the exhibit: My Memory House of Cards and Greenward Turn, and I'm happy to say that my work has been chosen to appear in the extended BookOpolis Exhibit, a juried showcase on view in the BookWorks Gallery through December 10.
There will be a raffle on Friday evening for a Handmade Cabinet with 15 Miniature Artists' Books on the theme of Memory Palaces. This is a rare and marvelous opportunity. See the sidebar at right with a link for purchasing tickets, or buy them in person on Friday night. Proceeds support the BookWorks Artist Residencies Programs and Tuition Scholarships.
Come Friday night for the opening and raffle, and Saturday for hands-on demos of papermaking, printmaking, letterpress and bookbinding. This is a great opportunity to learn more about Asheville BookWorks, one of our local treasures.
See the schedule of events and photos from last year's show at Asheville BookWorks.

New & Good
Screech Owl | Oh, Phew!
House under construction-- Owl in the living room!
Magically, a new studio-- It's just what I wanted!
New products-- They are trying, trying, trying to get onto the website. Don't know what the holdup is (me, I guess...) but I'm challenging myself to put something new on my new Etsy site everyday for a month. Hope you'll check and see how I'm doing with that!
