True Confessions
Never say never... | Truth is, I've been in a nihilistic funk lately. Hey, Atlas, I know how you feel!-- oh, the futility-- why bother? Nothing ever gets done...
Now, I've been around long enough to know that this is just a mood I'm susceptible to-- kind of like a head cold. So I just keep going and wait for it to pass; meanwhile, I'll try not to sneeze on you.
But what can I tell you in this newsletter? Lots is happening, but not too much is finished. Maybe next month...
My friend and Tailgate Market neighbor Deanne suggested I share an inspirational quote, and as it happens, this one-- so apropos-- was fresh in my mind:
"Whatever you do may seem insignificant to you, but it is most important that you do it." Mohandas Gandhi

Art in Bloom
Art In Bloom 2010 | The fourth annual Art in Bloom exhibit was held at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts on June 17-20. This years exhibit was as fresh and delightful as ever.It was a pleasure to photograph the exhibit and events, which included a fashion show and a garden tour. I've recently finished editing the book commemorating the exhibit. The book will soon be on sale at the
Center for the Arts. All proceeds will benefit the Black Mountain Center for the Arts. |

Nine Prayers
9 Prayers Reprise | This image is based on a sketch for a fiber work I completed several years ago. I thought of it recently when I pulled the tarot card 9 of Cups, signifying dreams come true. First and foremost, I had to acknowledge that although I was feeling anxiety in that moment, truly I live a life filled with happiness and blessings.
The leaf used is that of a "prayer plant", so named because the leaves fold together at night like hands in prayer. My 9 Prayers for you are Health, Happiness, Peace, Prosperity, Love, Laughter, Longevity, Friendship and Freedom.
