Greenward Turn Book Launch Coming Right Up!
Greenward Turn
Greenward Turn

JUNE 4, 2010---6-9 PM--- At  the Sean Pace Gallery,  continuing at 5 Walnut Wine Bar in downtown Asheville.

We'll be signing books, sharing the work and enjoying one another's company. All are welcome, faeries and humans alike! Love to see you there!

Sean Pace Gallery and 5 Walnut Wine Bar are located at 5 Walnut Street in Asheville.

About the Project:

Greenward Turn: A Faerie Romp combines text and photo-illustration to create a magical modern-day faerie tale.  A collaboration between Mary Lounsbury and Blaize D'Angio, the photos were made in Riverside Cemetery in Montford, with the kind participation  of the Gnarlicorn faeries, many of whom are local to Asheville.  A limited edition artist's book and a commercially printed version have been created from the work, as well as a selection of  prints.
To Market, To Market....
Opening day of market season
Black Mountain Tailgate Market

The market's open! May 8 was opening day, and many folks turned out. The weather was grand and there were lots of goodies to choose from.

What a valuable local resource, offering a great variety of products, including fantastically fresh organic produce. Our friendly market under the trees has the timeless quality of neighbors shopping, selling and catching up on news. Wherever you are, support your local farmer's market.  Enjoy being a part of your local economy.

If you're in our neighborhood, please stop and say hi! I'll be there selling my books and unveiling a few new, fun products over the season.

The Black Mountain Tailgate Market is open on Saturday mornings, 9-Noon, from May through October. Located at 130 Montreat Road (behind the First Baptist Church) in Black Mountain, NC.

Visit the website at blackmountaintailgatemarket.org for more info.

New & Good
The littlest faerie
Littlest Faerie
The rubber stamps are here -- they're so cool! We got the best quality we could find-- deep etch rubber with incredible detail.  This is the littlest faerie. Awww!

These are custom-made from my faerie photos. They're not on the website yet, but look for them by the end of the month. I'm working on overhauling the website shopping experience. If you're looking for some cool new stamps in the meantime, just drop me a line.
May Day
"Wild"
Faerie Image
Visit Firestorm Cafe in Asheville and check out their current Mayday art show, on exhibit through June 30.

"From ancient times till today, May 1st, Beltane, Mayday has embodied the coming of spring, the return of fertility to the earth and the possibilities for the birth of a better world."

And that's something to celebrate!

You can see my piece entitled "Wild" there.

Firestorm is a worker-owned community event space. They offer a wide range of events, delicious food and beverages and a unique selection of literature and local artwork.
We're All In This Together

Maine Flowers

I just read this quote from Pema Chodron in her book, The Places That Scare You:

"Strong determination is our commitment to use our lives to dissolve the indifference, aggression , and grasping that separate us from one another. It is a commitment to respect whatever life brings."

May you be blessed with strong determination.
Please contact me with any questions about our products or services---- or just to say hi!

Sincerely,
