Greetings NOVA Runners,
Practice will be at 6:30 P.M. at T.C. Williams High School.
Hopefully the weather will hold out for us Tuesday evening. We will have practice even if it rains. The only possibility of canceling will be if there is lightning at the start of practice at 6:30 P.M.
Practice on September 27th will be held at Fort Ward Park at 6:30 P.M.: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=fort+ward+park&hl=en&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=46.27475,86.660156&vpsrc=0&z=15
If you get a chance please wish our co-president Mark Drosky a happy belated Birthday. His Birthday was yesterday. He just turned 13.
Some of you may know that our very enthusiastic new member Harvard Thompson zipped out of town as fast as he came in. He is taking his leadership skills overseas to help those in need in Africa. We appreciate all that he has done for our club over the last six months: setting up the Google listserv, sending out weekly club reminders and volunteering to do everything--thank you Harvard. He will be missed. He plans on reading the Google list e-mails so he can keep in touch with us.
See you out there,
Mark Drosky (mad-241@hotmail.com) &

| Tuesday Track: 6:30 P.M. | |

| Coach Jerry's Workout |
The racing season is officially here, and we got off to a great start with Dave Wertz's road PR of 15:52. That Dave could run that fast and feel like it was a solid but unspectacular performance is testament to how far he's progressed in the last year. We're going to have more great performances as the season progresses, so stay tuned. The forecast for Tuesday night is not particularly favorable, but absent lightning in the vicinity of the track, we'll get after it rain or shine. The workout is 4 x 800, 4 x 400, all with a 400 jog. As always, if you have any questions, give me a holler. See you out there.
Coach Jerry

| Volunteers Needed!!! | |
Sun 10/2: Wilson Bridge Half Marathon
What: Wilson Bridge Half Marathon
Location: TBD - race course runs through Alexandria, VA to National Harbor, MD
Date: Sunday, October 2, 2011
Race Start Time: 0730
Background: Last year the Coordinator for the Wilson Bridge Half Marathon asked NOVA running club to man one of the water points for the race. We know many of you would rather run the race but can you please consider SUPPORTING the race instead.
We need 15-20 personnel to man the water point. Thank you to those who have already volunteered to date.
The Wilson Bridge Volunteer Coordinator has already begun to reach out requesting t-shirt sizes for our volunteers. She has not provided the water point location or time we need to be operational. As this information becomes available I'll provide it. For planning purposes plan to rendez-vous NLT 0600 for a race start time of 0730.
