Greetings NOVA Runners, The following NOVA members have recently signed up for the NOVA 5K For Jerry on August 25th at 6:30 P.M.: Erin Masterson, and Indrajit Das--thanks for signing up early! We currently have 20 people signed up for the race. This is more than we had last year at this time. We need a volunteer to lead the NOVA 5K For Jerry on a bike. Please let us know if you are interested. Contact Mark (mad-241@hotmail.com), Samantha (sam@tecole.com) or Lynn (lynconn450@aol.com). Anyone planning on volunteering for the race? We will meet this Thursday (August 18th) at 5:30 P.M. at Bluemont Park by the 4th Street parking lot. This is an opportunity to be prepared for your volunteer assignment for our NOVA race. We will assign jobs for the race and show you where you will be stationed on race day. It should only take about 30 minutes to an hour. Please come if you plan on volunteering. If you can't make it and still want to volunteer please contact Mark or Samantha. Our club is now an official member of USATF. Anyone interested in entering a race as NOVA team or need to recruit others to join a team for a USATF event please let us know and we will put it in our weekly newsletter.
Congratulations to everyone that raced this weekend despite the wet weather. Two of our members (Derik and Lisa Thomas) had an honorable mention in the recap of Leesburg 20K race in the Washington Running Report: Leesburg 10K and 20K recap See you out there, Mark Drosky (mad-241@hotmail.com) & Samantha Cole (sam@tecole.com) NOVA Co-Presidents |

| Coach Jerry's Workout |
Gang, the summer is just about over, and the fall racing season is almost upon us. If you want to race well in September and October, you need to hit the track in August, so I expect to see a huge crowd tomorrow. It should be a great night to run, and because the weather will apparently be favorable, we can get in some longer intervals. The workout will be 2 x 1200, 2 x 800, 2 x 400, all with a 400 jog. As always, if you have any questions, give me a holler. See you out there tomorrow. Coach Jerry
