Road Runners Club of America
Issue: #2011-13March 28, 2011

Greetings NOVA Runners!

We will be having practice at TC Williams Track this Tuesday March 29th.

Many thanks to the following NOVA Volunteers (Agatha Engel, Chris Duncan, Lynn Connor, Tara Crum, and Matt Wade), who braved the early morning chilly temperatures during the SunTrust National Marathon on Saturday. These volunteer efforts are an important part of our club's effort to reach out to the DC running community.

Mark ran the National Half-Marathon. It was a gorgeous course with plenty of scenery and downhills. The National Marathon is touted as the fastest flat-looped marathon course in the nation by Running USA. We highly recommend the National Marathon, Half Marathon and Team Relay to all NOVA members!

We send "Good Luck" vibes to all the fortunate Lottery winners that are running the Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run on Sunday.

See you out there,

Mark Drosky (mad-241@hotmail.com) & Samantha Cole (sam@tecole.com)
NOVA Co-Presidents

Coach Jerry's Workout
Gang, we've got the big Cherry Blossom 10 mile this weekend.  If you're not running, plan to come out and support your teammates who are.  It's a world class event and it's something that you want to be part of, either as an athlete or spectator.  To help all of our Cherry Blossom participants sharpen up for the race, the workout will be 6 x 800 w/ a 400 recovery, 2 easy, 2 medium, 2 hard.  That's an excellent pre-race workout, but it's also good for those of you who are delaying your run for glory until a future race.

I also want to put in a plug for the summer program sponsored by my other club, Georgetown Running Company.  If any of you know a high school coach or parent of a high school athlete who might be interested, please pass this along.  It will be a great opportunity for high school runners to rub elbows with the big guns, and a way for my top athletes to pass along their knowledge and enthusiasm for running to the younger generation.

As always, if you have any questions, give me a holler.  See you out there tomorrow.
