Here are two quick notices I've received and am passing on to you. Demand for the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile race is so high that the race organizers moved to a Lottery to give people a chance to enter the race: http://www.cherryblossom.org/entry/entry.htm
The Cherry Blossom 10 Mile race is on Sunday April 3, 2011.
Registration for the 2011 George Washington Parkway Classic is found here: http://www.active.com/running/alexandria-va/george-washington-parkway-classic-2011.
The race date for the Parkway Classic is Sunday, April 10, 2011 @ 8:00 AM.
Finally, teams are forming for the Jingle All the Way 10K on December 12. If you are interested in running, let me or the Coach know. There are three men and one woman on the team but we could always use more!

| Tuesday Track Session | Wakefield H.S., Tuesday, 6:30 PM
I have been assured by the Arlington County Parks and Recreation Department that the Track will be open for NOVA on Tuesday. The last two weeks we have run on neighborhood streets and while morale has been good, and running on the roads is probably not a bad change, we prefer the controlled and safe environment of the track. So come out and join us at Wakefield High School for our Tuesday track workout. Try to get there about 15 minutes early so you can warm up and stretch before we start. Wakefield is located at 4901 S Chesterfield Rd Arlington, Virginia 22206.

| Coach Jerry's Workout |
We had a couple of noteworthy performances in the California International Marathon yesterday. Brian Young came close to a PR and showed once again that he's a man to watch out for in 2011. Brian always goes out hard, and pretty soon he's going to manage to keep rolling all the way to the tape. And while Krista Vrombaut fell short of her goal of qualifying for the 2012 Olympic Trials, I can promise you that she will be back better than ever this spring, and I fully expect Krista to be competing in the trials in Houston 13 months from now. It's going to be cold at the track tomorrow, but that's no reason to miss the fun. Working out in the cold is only a good thing, as the low temperature adds an extra level of difficulty to the workout, but not in a dangerous way like heat does. The layout at Wakefield provides a natural barrier to the wind, so don't be afraid to come out and experience cold weather training at its finest. The workout will be what we intended to do last week--6 x 800 with a 400 jog. As always, if you have any questions, give me a holler. See you out there.
Coach Jerry

| Post-Track Pizza: Pizzaiolo's | Join us at our post-track hang out
Even though we are now at Wakefield for track we are still meeting for a post workout pizza and beer at The Pizzaiolo Café on Fern. We've had a great turnout the last few weeks. The Pizzaiolo Café is located at 1623 Fern Street, Alexandria, VA, across the street from Ramparts. Please join us after track! http://www.cafepizzaiolo.com/cof_home.html
Due to our strong patronage, the owner of The Pizzaiolo Café, Larry Ponzi, has extended Happy Hour pricing to NOVA! $4 house wines (Chianti, Sangivose and Pinot Grigio) $3 drafts of Yuengling Lager and Miller Lite $10 pitchers of the Yuengling Lager and Miller Lite
