FEATURED PLACEMENT
Merle Garrison, Director of Channel Sales - Healthcare Software

The CEO of this profitable, privately-held healthcare-focused software company enlisted Redfish Technology to find exceptional sales professionals for the critical position of Director of Channel Sales. An industry leader in enterprise mobile alert solutions, this company is growing aggressively, and needed the right sales talent quickly. The company's unique technology on appliance-based software requires sales people with clinical sales experience who are also familiar with selling software into VARS in healthcare marketing. Focused on growth, the ideal candidate would be a natural hunter, who can built new channels from the ground up. This fast-paced company offers an exciting opportunity with tremendous upside potential including equity and an uncapped commission structure.
Merle Garrison was recruited for his fantastic energy and obvious passion for the notification space. Merle is a seasoned consultative and strategic account executive, who consistently hits between 100 and 150% of quota. Merle has excellent sales methodology, and leadership and sales certifications. He has experience building channels, has demonstrated exceptional team leadership and reliability, is an expert in complex sales solutions, and is skilled in new product marketing, development, and sales. Merle is a veteran of the health industry, with significant wins at Cedars Sinai, Kaiser Permanente, Texas Children's Hospital, and Phoenix Children's Hospital.
" Working with Joanna was fantastic. She called me out of the blue at a time when I felt like I had run out of hope. Joanna was courteous and professional. After explaining the job that she was looking to fill, I knew right away that this was the job for me. The great thing was that as I got more and more excited about the possibility, so did Joanna. I really felt like I was working with a partner rather than someone who just wanted a commission check. Not only that, but after I started working for the company, Joanna followed up with me to make sure I was happy. It meant so much to me that she cared about my happiness. That is a rare quality to find in this fast paced environment in which we work. I would certainly go to Joanna first should the need ever present itself. Since that time, I have been so pleased with my new position. I feel that I have finally found a place where my skills and experience can be utilized to the fullest. Not only that but I feel an appreciation from my employer that I have not encountered in over 20 years of career experience." - Merle Garrison

STAFFING & EMPLOYMENT NEWS
The economy grew last quarter at the fastest pace in a year, but job growth remains fairly anemic.
The economy grew last quarter at the fastest pace in a year (2.5%), however that growth was still insufficient to push down the unemployment rate. GDP is estimated to grow at just over 2% in 2012, and 2.7% in 2013, a gradual improvement.
ADP estimated Thursday that October private payrolls rose 110,000. Friday the Labor Department reported that payrolls expanded by 80,000 jobs in October, and the September figure was revised upward to 158,000 (from 103,000) and August was revised upwards to 104,000 (from 57,000).
IT and Clean Tech recruiters, such as Redfish Technology, report a very strong quarter. Solar and Software as a Service being two leading sectors of employment at this time. Online job posting activity is up by 11% year-over-year according to the Monster Employment Index.

TECH TRENDS
Technology Investment Creates Jobs, Prosperity Technology investment nurtures innovation and creates economic prosperity. This statement has been proved time and time again. In competition with the Soviet Union's space program, the U.S. invested heavily in science, engineering, aerospace, and technology, and they pay off was strong innovation, huge job creation, and the birth of new industries in which the U.S. was the clear leader for decades. Today high tech products are the U.S.'s largest overseas export, making up 17.8 percent of all U.S. exports and supporting more than 900,000 U.S. jobs. Most nations are doubling down on their technology and innovation strategies and investment in an effort to win in the telecommunications, energy, and IT industries; securing dominance in key industries of tomorrow will grow jobs and prosperity for the winners. |

GREEN TECH TRENDS
Solar Temperatures Rising! On all fronts, solar is heating up. Polemic in congress and by detractors, job & export creation by US firms, and public support. Polemic: The bankruptcy of solar panel manufacturer Solyndra, and ensuing reports of fat bonuses and misconduct, are fueling the detractors and absorbing the media and congress. But let's not get so focused on the Solyndra tree that we can see the Solar Promise forest. China is investing billions into their clean tech companies, and they certainly have factored in that some will fail... Job & Export Creation: The Solar Foundation's recent "National Solar Jobs Census 2011: A Review of the U.S. Solar Workforce" report found that more than 100,000 Americans are now employed in the solar industry. The solar industry's job growth rate is 6.8%, which is much higher than the 2% net job loss in fossil fuel power generation and the general economy's anemic job growth... Public Support: 9 out of 10 Americans Support Solar according to the 2011 SCHOTT Solar Barometer, conducted annually by independent polling firm Kelton Research. Key findings of the survey include: * 89% of Americans think it is important to develop and use solar power * 82% support federal solar incentives * 82% support U.S. solar manufacturing Read article.

STREAMLINING THE HIRING PROCESS FOR SUCCESS
By Beth Cliff, IT Engineering Recruitment Manager

Fourth quarter hiring is in full swing, and candidates are actively and selectively interviewing. On average, the hiring process from the time a resume is submitted to offer and acceptance is 7-10 days, and the majority of candidates we are placing, roughly 85%, are currently in full-time roles while looking for their next opportunity. One key to successfully hiring the most qualified candidate for your organization is having a streamlined hiring process. Be sure that everyone who will be involved in the hiring and decision making is available and committed to the process.
Because the majority of candidates are currently employed, we've found that it is best to keep the interviews as concise and thorough as possible. Typically a preliminary phone screen, followed by an on-site meeting where the candidate will spend anywhere from two to four hours seem to be the most successful. Depending on your company style, the on-site interview can be a series of one-on-one meetings or a group interview. Either way, be sure everyone the candidate needs to meet is available.

WANT A JOB? 5 STEPS TO PERSONAL BRANDING
No matter what the season or economic stimulus, the unemployed and underemployed worker is struggling to find work. That's grim news for many people looking for work or a change in careers, especially those jobseekers pitching themselves to employers the same way 15 million other jobseekers are doing it.
Despite these ominous odds, employers are hiring. They are just much more diligent and particular about whom they put on their payroll. That means jobseekers must be equally diligent and resourceful. Therefore it is critical that a candidate present him- or herself in the best light possible, in as many ways as possible, to as many prospective employers as possible. In other words, if you want that next job, it's time to brand yourself.
Brand yourself? What, exactly, does that mean? Isn't branding the responsibility of marketing and public relations departments and ad agencies? If that is what you think, it's time to change your tune...and brand.
