FEATURED PLACEMENT
Douglas Sandlaufer, Senior Project Development Manager - Commercial PV Project Sales
| |
"Harness the Sun!" |
The VP of Sales of one of Redfish Technology's top clients opened a role for a Project Development Manager. A privately-held Solar Integrator, this developer, builder, and operator of distributed solar power systems handles 250KW to 10MW projects at $1M to $40M each. Their hiring objectives focused on finding the right senior sales talent to grow the commercial side of their business. Candidates needed a proven track record of capital project sales and account growth, as well as expertise in solar technologies, costs and savings opportunities, finance vehicles, and renewable technologies and energy efficiency markets.
Redfish sought and identified the successful sales experience that Douglas had built over his career in residential, commercial, and government energy efficiency and solar photovoltaic systems. He repeatedly demonstrated the ability to grow and manage the sales pipeline, and played a critical role in his tenure as VP of Sales in taking a previous solar employer public. In addition to his sales savvy and industry connections, Douglas' technical expertise and engagement in product development makes him a very valuable asset.
"I wanted to take a minute to express a special thanks to you for your most professional attention to my placement. It was 100% your personal approach and your tenacity that made me open my eyes to this opportunity. Every step of the way was a positive one when I spoke to you. I am sure that Redfish is honored to have you represent them on a daily basis. - Thank you again."- Douglas Sandlaufer |

Americans must be feeling optimistic; auto sales reportedly rose 27% in February. The economy is improving. More executives plan on increasing hiring, unemployment benefit applications are going down, projections are confident. Friday's jobs report showed a "respectively healthy gain" for the month of February, at 192,000, and December and January revisions were up a net 58,000. Professional and business services, health care, transportation & warehousing, construction, mining, and manufacturing all showed increases. The Monster employment index went up 7 points to 129 in February with a sharp pick-up in online job recruitment.

GREEN TECH TRENDS: SPUTNIK!
Unconventional Vehicles
Unconventional include Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), and FlexFuel Vehicles. HEVs have entered the mainstream over the last decade; the PHEVs will offer longer drive range as the offer the ability to plug in to recharge. BEVs plug into the electric grid and do not require any petroleum and rely on improving battery technology for cost and range improvements.
Unconventional vehicles are predicted to experience rapid sales growth. Whereas conventional gasoline vehicles made up 84.83% of the market in 2009, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) predicts that by 2035 unconventional vehicles are forecast to make up 40%.

DETERMINING MARKET WORTH
By Beth Cliff, Executive Recruiter, Redfish Technology
Knowing what you are worth in the marketplace, or determining how to compensate a prospective employee can be a daunting proposition. Candidates want to obtain the optimum salary, while employers want to fairly compensate their new hires within their allotted budgets. The magic number that will leave both sides feeling good about their decision is in large part determined by the ever changing marketplace.
Over the past couple of years, I have seen some interesting trends in the marketplace. It's no secret that finding your dream job, and corresponding compensation, the past few years hasn't been easy. Many talented professionals found themselves unexpectedly looking for new roles. The result of more candidates vying for fewer jobs was a large fluctuation in salary requirements from candidates.
