"Taking the on-line class in Art and Healing this summer has been an exceptional experience . Guided by Kathleen with her wisdom , grace, and insight has reconnected me to my own personal need to set aside time to do art ! This is the first on-line class I have ever done and Kathleen has "held my technology deficient hand " every step of the way . And the best part is, there is no pressure to produce or create ...only a most sincere, safe and welcoming invitation to set aside time and be guided into ones' own heart and soul through art . PAINTING YOUR CREATIVE "WILD" INNER CHILD.
STUDIO RETREAT
Victoria Domenichello-Anderson, M.A., REACE
Saturdays - September 29, November 3, December 1
10 am - 5 pm
$85 plus $15 supply fee per session
$285 for 3 sessions*
In this NEW series, beginning September 29th, participants will tap into and unearth their playful yet wise creative inner child as a way to engage and balance ones full potential for wholeness and happiness. We will be working from our INNER CORE to our OUTER EDGE, journeying inward then outward, using the creative edge as a holding point for new awareness. We will focus on the following prompts as we explore our own life goal.
Where is my inner WILD now? Where is it going? Where does it want to be?
*Attendance to all 3 sessions is preferred. Email or phone Victoria for a 2 class option.
In this workshop series we will go to the periphery of our creative edge, challenge our comfort zone, and see what comes next. By opening up to those things that seem just beyond our reach, and exploring them through the art process we are able to gain a new awareness of ourselves and our life path. This exploration often gives new insights into our inner and outer worlds and assists us in merging the two.
In each session, participants will paint on a large canvas using acrylics. Focusing on a particular intention each week, participants will be led through a centering exercise, do some spontaneous writing, and painting exploration.
We will create in a studio atmosphere and Victoria will mentor along the way, both individually and as a group.
Large canvas, basic acrylic paints and brushes are supplied.
Payment must be received 7 days prior to start date to confirm attendance. Space is limited to 8. EAFI elective credit available. CEU's for LMHC, LCSW, LMFT.

Heidemann studied classical technique with Brenda Boozer (NY Metropolitan Opera) & gained a B.A. in Expressive Arts Therapy (Indiana University). She received national attention with singing with a cappella world music group, "VIDA" (IMG-Artists) and continues to spread her music through CD compilations (Sounds True, inc.) and film soundtracks. Stephanie is a member of IEATA, Florida Artist-in-Schools Association presenting workshops nationally (and internationally). Her private practice is in Sarasota, Florida. For more information, please visit authenticvoicework.com
"From a very young age I believed that I could not sing. In just a few brief sessions, Stephanie's Authentic Voicework dismantled this many-decades-old belief system and showed it to be absolutely untrue. I DO have a voice! And now I can sing just for the sheer joy of it. Not only that, this revelation has caused me to question every other limiting belief I have about myself and my abilities and see them for the frauds that they are. This is freedom! "

In a Question and Answer segment during our networking session in July, Florida, the following questions were asked of Chingling. She addresses these questions further in the following statement.
Q: Is your work with the crystal bowls representative of your culture?
A: I would say it combines with our religious culture, in which we use Tibetan singing bowls in our Buddhist ceremony. I am a person walking between East and West. I have the cultural background of playing singing bowls, and I was then introduced to crystal bowls and received the professional training of sound healing and expressive arts. This brings the healing from the essence of the traditional religious setting and makes it relevant for modern society.
Also, an interesting thing is that I choose instruments through instinct, and, each of those instruments happens to have been used in spiritual settings in ancient times. The harmonica was used by the yogis used for Nartabrama meditation, which is the toning meditation in India. The rain stick is used in Native American cultures for invoking the rain. The Tibetan singing bowls are used in the Tibetan Buddhism ceremony.
Q: Where does the content and process of your presentation here come from? Is it something developed in the Expressive Arts field, or is it from your cultural background?
A: Both.
The Expressive Arts field is grounded more in psychology and psychotherapy, and these fields are new for Chinese culture. However, in ancient Chinese culture, art is always based on healing. Tai-chi movement is focuses on healing the body, mind and spirit. The Chinese calligrapher is actually using the form and the Chinese brush as a tool to invoke his spirit, chi, energy (Ching, Chi, Shen). The ancient Chinese musicians are playing the instrument to harmonize their emotion and spirit with the universe, which often becomes a way of meditation - letting the body, mind and spirit have a way to rest and to tone into the Tao, the Way.
My culture is currently bridging the gap between healing arts and therapy. Expressive Arts is just a newly arising therapeutic field in China. Part of the reason for this is there is more mental illness recognized today than in ancient time, and more efficient steps to recovery are needed. Expressive Arts fills this need.
