We want to thank you all for graciously welcoming us into your calm and peaceful Expressive Arts Florida space last week as we presented our art and healing process, Celebrating Your Tribe.

What an amazing evening (and adventure!) it was for both of us-thanks, in part, to your thoughtful understanding of what it means to  hold the space for all those who were present last Wednesday.  Looking around our tribal campfire circle, it was so lovely and reassuring to see such kind and beautiful faces-so many faces that we knew and recognized and some that we did not.

Again, thank you all for providing us with the opportunity to share our expressive arts process, Celebrating Your Tribe, created, in part, to remind us all to mindfully honor our own tribes and our unique and changing places within them.

With love and gratitude,

Cynthia + Muff

Collaborative Journey Mandala

by

Elizabeth, Tamara, Victoria, Kathleen

EAF collabmandala

I am blending many threads

I am nurturing fertile ground for roots leading to possibility
I am flowing freely
Moving with the tides
Coming in and going out
Like breathing
I am balanced
I am peace
I am an opening
Where light enters and illuminates out
I am kept close, tucked in
near the heart
I am spiraling up and out
to meet the new world.

We are a palette of many colors
Bold, strong and bright
We are moving in a circle
flowing deep and reaching high
We are Air, we are Earth, we are Water, and we are Fire
We are whole
we are alive
We are whirling and spinning
Covering the terrain of heart, mind, and soul
Depth, space, water and land
Discovering as we go
Trusting what we do and don't understand
we are swimming in a sea of abundance
Flowing from layers of earth to new Airy heights
Fed by passion
we are entwined in blossoms of creativity
We peer out among the new growth
Meeting all that lives within the circle.

Expressive Arts Florida Institute is a two-level training program for those interested in pursuing the Expressive Arts as a professional path, whether integrating it into an existing career, or beginning a career in the expressive arts field.

An INTERMODAL EXPRESSIVE ARTS TRAINING PROGRAM, Expressive Arts Florida Institute is grounded in a firm belief that an integrated arts approach is a powerful agent of change. Students will participate in visual art-making of various kinds, writing, poetry, music, movement, drama, and guided visualization. An emphasis will be on the power of following the natural creative flow from one arts modality to another.

The learning format is THREE WEEKEND INTENSIVE COURSES  per calendar year, generally in January, April, and October in Sarasota, FL. Each weekend is 25 hours of class time. In addition, there is a one-day orientation program for new students. There are also elective credits, which students can often earn in their own community, online communication with an advisor, and a Practicum/Internship at the end of the second year.  We offer flexibility for entry of new students; they may start the program with any of the Level 1 weekend intensives. Our goal is to create a FLEXIBLE LEARNING FORMAT for students traveling to Sarasota from other areas.
