Hello and welcome to the MARCH 2010 edition of our monthly community newsletter!February was another busy month at Expressive Arts Florida! We would like to start out by saying how grateful we are for this amazing, inspiring expressive arts community! At our recent Networking evening, guest facilitator Irene McCool Harmes, treated us to a wonderful mini-presentation based "active imagination" work. Thank you, Irene, for giving such a meaningful presentation, and thank you, participants, for your willingness to dive into the expressive arts with a full measure of creativity and inspiration. Irene's website is www.numinagroup.netHere are some groupings of the visual art we created together. fear compassionIf you are an Expressive Arts Practitioner, or in training to become one, please consider joining us at our monthly networking, on the last Wednesday of each month. If you have a process you would like to introduce or "try out", this is a great place to do it! Kathleen and Tamara participated in facilitating the "MANDALA LINK" WORKSHOP for teachers and teaching artists at the Van Wezel Center for Performing Arts Center on February 6. This workshop was part of a larger project that will culminate with a group of Tibetan Monks in residency at the Van Wezel April 18 through 23rd. The monks will be creating a sand mandala in the grand foyer during the week, as well as performing in the theater. This is a beautiful experience to witness and we highly recommend it. The February workshop was an opportunity to inform the teachers about Tibetan culture and art. The teachers will be integrating this material into their curricula, and Expressive Arts Florida will be hosting an exhibit of the student art work work in April. In addition, we will have a collaborative art-making project in the Van Wezel foyer during the monk's residency. Stay tuned. (And, speaking of sand mandalas, scroll down to sand mandalas for another great opportunity! And, it ALL ties in with our second annual Community Mandala Exhibit opening March 19, as well as the Mandala CEU Workshop offered by Kathleen.
