Duplicate Claim Denials:
What Are They Costing You? | |
Did you know that 42 percent of all ChiroCare claim denials are the result of a duplicate submission?
We are committed to working with our contracted providers as well as our administrator to simplify our processes and reduce administrative costs for both ChiroCare and you, our provider, where possible. With the ChiroCare savings, projects and initiatives that benefit all of our contracted network providers are funded, e.g. online education courses, NCQA accreditation support, patient outcomes data collection and future marketing initiatives designed to increase patient traffic in your office. To help reduce the administration costs for your office and ChiroCare, we encourage you to do following:
- Contact your billing service. If you use a billing service for claim submissions, please confirm their standard billing protocols. Many automatically resubmit unpaid claims a short time following the initial submission, e.g. less than 30 days, resulting in unnecessary charges to you as well as increasing ChiroCare's administrative costs. If this is the case, please ask your billing service to adjust their process for ChiroCare claims and resubmit only after they have confirmed a failed delivery.
- Use ChiroCare Connect to confirm claim status. To locate a claim on ChiroCare Connect, do the following:
- Log on to ChiroCare Connect.
Not Registered? It's simple: go to www.chirocaremn.org and select "To ChiroCare Connect, then"Register" from the ChiroCare Connect home page. From there, simply follow the on line prompts. Registration should take less than 5 minutes.
- Select "Patient Status" tab and use the Member Search tool
- Once the appropriate member has been selected, go to Claims (in sub menu bar) to view the status of each claim received.
Please note that when submitting claims through a clearinghouse, it typically takes approximately two business days for ChiroCare to receive the claim.
Please note that, it typically takes approximately two business days until you can view your claim.
- Wait 30 before doing additional follow up on claims received by ChiroCare. Depending on the health plan associated with a claim, the average turn around time will vary from 14 days to more than 30. To inquire about a claim in process, please contact Provider Services at (888) 638-7719 for assistance.

Get to Know the Board Members: Dr. Richard "Rick" Zarmbinski
|
A ChiroCare Board member since 2001, Dr. Zarmbinski lends his voice and energy to several causes that support chiropractors and the chiropractic profession. As a ChiroCare Board member, he participates on several committees including Credentialing, Provider Services, Finance and Recruiting (new Board members and staff). In addition, he has served on the Board of Trustees at Northwestern Health Sciences University for 20 years, previously as Chair and currently as Treasurer. A past president of the Minnesota Chiropractic Association (MCA), Dr. Zarmbinski has served on the MCA legislative committee for 25 years, chairing it for five. In addition, he is a long standing member of the American Chiropractic Association. After turning down a scholarship for dental school, Dr. Zarmbinski injured his back while working. When traditional medical treatment and drugs failed, a friend encouraged him to seek chiropractic care. The success of that treatment prompted him to pursue a career in chiropractic. A 1981 graduate of Northwestern College of Chiropractic, Dr. Zarmbinski has owned and operated A Center for Chiropractic and Acupuncture in Woodbury for nearly 30 years. His success is further demonstrated with several awards including: Chiropractor of the year, MCA (2000) Distinguished Alumnus, Northwestern College of Chiropractic (1999) Meritorious Award, MCA (1999) Outstanding Leadership Award, MCA (1998) Presidential Award, MCA (1989, 1990 and 1993) In addition to his many chiropractic causes, Dr. Zarmbinski supports his community through participation with the Chamber of Commerce in both Washington and Dakota Counties. He enjoys golf and is looking forward to watching his daughter's graduation from St. Olaf later this month.
