Greetings!  ,

On April 17, 2012 we had the honor of being included in a special Public Service Announcement (PSA) for NJ's Move Over Law. The radio and commercial ads were spearheaded by the NJ State Police and the Division of Highway Traffic Safety to bring awareness to this very important and life saving law. Drivers approaching stationary emergency vehicles, tow trucks and other highway safety vehicles displaying red, blue and/or amber flashing lights must now move over one lane or, if not safe to move over, then slow down below the posted speed limit.

Donna Setaro, the mother of Tpr. Marc Castellano, a New Jersey State Trooper who was struck by a motorist and killed while working on the outside perimeter set up by the NJSP at exit 31B on Route 195 West in Howell Township has made it her mission to promote awareness of this law.

We were contacted by Tpr. Polhemus to become involved in this project because of the loss of our driver Mark Angelo who was struck by a tractor trailer in November, 2011 and succumbed to his injuries. I informed Tpr. Polhemus that two additional drivers, Walter Gonzalez and Tom Prince had had very close calls as well. Both of these men had been involved in accidents where drivers struck our trucks while on the side of the road. Only through quick action on their parts did they save their lives. In one case the door was ripped right off of our truck.

The three of us went to the NJ State Police Museum to be interviewed. We were humbled to speak on behalf of the many NJ towers who have been in simiar circumstances and proud to be a part of a movement to better educate people and hopefully help to save lives.

The PSA's are scheduled to be released in early June. For more information on the law click any of the pictures below.

God bless,
Nick Testa
