Cool Rides |
We are beginning a new segment of our newsletter highlighting special customer trucks.
We take a lot of pride in our trucks and we know there are a lot of you who have spent countless hours and a pretty penny making your trucks the cream of the crop despite the many hours these big rigs are hard at work on the highway day in and day out.
We want to celebrate your time and efforts in our newsletter. If you have a truck you are especially proud of email us a picture and some information about the truck to

Do You Have a Disaster Readiness Plan For Your Pets? |
Step 1- Get a Rescue Alert Sticker
This easy-to-use sticker will let people know that pets are inside your home. Make sure it is visible to rescue workers, and that it includes 1) the types and number of pets in your household; 2) the name of your veterinarian; and 3) your veterinarian's phone number. If you must evacuate with your pets, and if time allows, write "EVACUATED" across the stickers. These can be obtained from pet stores or the ASPCA online.
Step 2- Arrange a Safe Haven
DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PETS BEHIND.
- Contact your veterinarian for a list of preferred boarding kennels and facilities.
- Ask your local animal shelter if they provide emergency shelter or foster care for pets.
- Identify hotels or motels outside of your immediate area that accept pets.
- Ask friends and relatives outside your immediate area if they would be willing to take in your pet.
Step 3- Emergency Supplies and Traveling Kits
- 3-7 days' worth of canned (pop-top) or dry food
- Litter or paper toweling
- Liquid dish soap and disinfectant
- Disposable garbage bags for clean-up
- Pet feeding dishes
- Extra collar or harness as well as an extra leash
- Photocopies of medical records and a waterproof container with a two-week supply of any medicine your pet requires.
- Bottled water, at least 7 days' worth for each person and pet.
- A traveling bag, crate or sturdy carrier, ideally one for each pet
- Flashlight
- Blanket
- Recent photos of your pets (in case you are separated and need to make "Lost" posters)
- Especially for cats: Pillowcase or EvackSack, toys, scoopable litter
- Especially for dogs: Extra leash, toys and chew toys, a week's worth of cage liner.

Greetings!
It's been a wild month or so weather wise between earthquakes, hurricanes and tornado warnings. Through it all we're proud to say we have been there to help in the recovery of many vehicles to get the roadways open and in many cases get emergency vehicles going to continue in their efforts to help the community. Many residents and companies are still dealing with the repercussions of Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee (as you can see from the sinkhole article below). We are here 24/7/365 for whatever you need be it a standard tow or something more involved. Stay safe out there!
God bless,

Truck Standed In Sinkhole
20' Long, 30' Wide and 20' Deep!
On September 1, 2011 we were called to the scene of a semi tractor trailer that had been engulfed by a sinkhole. Through the expertise and hard work of the NTS crew we were able to recover the truck and let the road crews repair the roadway which is a major thoroughfare linking Wallington and Passaic. The North Jersey newspaper documents the day in the link below.

Nick's Towing Service New You Tube Ad
| Nick's Towing Service Inc - Rutherford, NJ | |
Quote of the Month | | "But now in September the garden has cooled, and with it my possessiveness. The sun warms my back instead of beating on my head ... The harvest has dwindled, and I have grown apart from the intense midsummer relationship that brought it on." - Robert Finch |
Brand New Hino Flatbed Joins The Fleet At NTS
Truck #93 joined the ranks of the Nick's Towing Service fleet in late August. It is a single axle 2011 Hino rollback. Jim Powers from New England Truckmaster put together the specs for this sweet ride and added everything an operator would want and more to make towing and transport both safe and stylish. This is the second Hino Nick purchased as part of his Green campaign. "The fuel efficiency cannot be beat on these trucks." says Nick. "I think Jim did a great job putting together a truck that will be getting plenty of action in the upcoming Winter months."
