"Blast From The Past" |
Since we began our email program we have had the pleasure of reconnecting with many old friends and customers. Joe Fasano, a longtime friend of Nick's forwarded us the picture above and we wanted to share it. It is a picture of the car he raced with Nick when they were young guys and dragracing together. The picture below is of Nick's car from the same time period.

Class Action lawsuit Against Ford Motor Company
The lawsuit claims that the 6.0 liter diesel engines in the F350 and F450 vehicles produced beginning in 2004 were defective. The class action lawsuit was filed in federal court in Chicago, January 2010 by a Chaddell & Chapman, a Houston based law firm. Several other law firms across the county have also filed similar lawsuits. A previous lawsuit was settled in 2009 between Ford and a number of ambulance companies who brought suit against Ford after purchasing Ford vehicles with 6.0 liter diesel engines. These company vehicle were plagued with both engine and air conditioning issues. The new lawsuit is not specific to any type of vehicle (like the ambulance case was) and includes all vehicles with those engines.

NTS Tow Of The Month | | Kudos to Tom Prince, Artie Robert and Brice Simpson for safely transporting this 100,000 lb.+ 6 axle concrete pumper over 175 miles from PA to Rockaway, NJ. No easy task considering the first two miles was a straight pull up a 35 degree roadway. Great job guys! |
June is National Drive Safe Month | |

Take a few moments to reflect on driver safety this month. Below are a few tips.
1. WEAR A SEAT BELT.
2. Do not drive if you under the influence of alcohol, tired or on medication that stipulates not to drive or operate heavy machinery.
3. Keep your headlights on at all times. It really does increase your visibility even during the day.
4. Make sure you are only driving, not talking on your cell phone, reading a map, plugging in information into your GPS, etc...
5. Use your mirrors. They are there to help you navigate.
6. Take your time and pay attention to the road.
These are some simple things that we all know but most of us forget when we're behind the wheel. Be safe out there! |

Tips For A Pet-Safe Summer | | Article SubheadingFrom unpredictable weather to unusual routines, our animals are exposed to all sorts of hazards during June, July and August, and your pet is counting on you to keep him safe. Check out these tips for keeping your animal safe and secure all summer long.
- Never leave your animal alone in the car in the heat. The interior of a car can heat up even with the windows open. - Avoid lathering your pet with insect repellant and sunscreen not labeled for pet use. - Keep your pets away from citronella candles, lantern oil, matches and lighter fluid which if ingested can irritate the stomach, lungs and central nervous system. - Give pets access to plenty of fresh water at all times. Even the healthiest pet can suffer from dehydration, heatstroke, and sunburn. - Be cool near the pool! Not all dogs are good swimmers. Don't leave pets unattended around lakes, streams and pools. |

Meet The Employee | | Brian Fitter
Brian has been working in the towing industry since 1994. He began as a weekend dispatcher for a local towing company. The job slowly evolved and he was offered a full time position managing the company's towing division.
After leaving the company for a brief time to open his own restaurant, Brian returned to his towing career in 2009 here at Nick's Towing Service. He wears a number of different hats including handling all the towing contracts for the company, dealing with insurance issues and FMC regulations, and any major project that Nick needs done. Brian can also be seen in the dispatch office or yard depending on who needs a helping hand. Brian says he enjoys the organizational aspects of his job the most. "I get a great sense of accomplishment when I can complete a project that moves the company forward." says Brian.
Nick notes "I can count on two things when it comes to Brian - First, that he'll always have a cup of coffee in his hand and Second, that he'll be ready, willing and able to handle anything I throw at him. He is a great asset to the company."
On the homefront Brian has a lovely wife and 5 year old son. When not performing his duties as Dad, Brian enjoys fixing things and home remodeling projects. Great job Brian!
