1st Edition of the Doulos NewsletterDavid

I am very excited to welcome you to the first edition of our newsletter. We will be sending this to you once a month to keep you informed about all that is going on in the ministry and how you can be involved.

This publication is designed to keep you up to date about our efforts domestically, which will include things like chapter development and fundraising events. It will also keep you informed about what is happening internationally, which will include updates and reports about how our church planting efforts are going and how God is changing the lives of people on the ground in places like Cuba, Mexico, and India.

One of the things that are very important to me and to the team at Doulos Partners is to get feed back from you. So as we go forward please respond to the things that you are experiencing through the newsletter. We want you to get to know us better but we want to get to know you better as well. If you would like to know us even better, click on our logo above to take you automatically to our website.  We are excited about how God is going to use us together to advance the name of Jesus among the nations.

2009 Golf Tournamentsgolf1
Mobile, Birmingham, Atlanta, and Savannah

The Lord has greatly blessed the efforts of many with the three completed golf fundraisers that we have done this year. The Mobile tournament was held on March the 18th. The Birmingham Tournament was played on August the 15th. The Atlanta tournament was held through the driving rain on September 16th.  The guys in Atlanta get a special thank you for playing in very difficult conditions.

These three tournaments were very successful. We raised almost $100,000 for our ministry. This could not have happened without the hard work of over 100 volunteers that participated. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, thank you, and thank you.

We are very excited about an up-coming golf event that is going to take place on October the 28th in Savannah Georgia. We have 24 golfers so far that have agreed to participate. Please pray that the Lord will bless their efforts.

One final thing. Steve Webb, who played in our Birmingham tournament, is pictured in this edition of the newsletter. If you notice he is somewhat perplexed as to golf1what club to hit. After much prayer and help from his playing partners Beau Cottrell, Jack Cornelius, and Gregg Riley, he hit a great shot. Who says prayer does not work? Beau, Jack and Gregg could never come to a consensus on anything.

Thanks again for everyone's help with our fundraisers. Your efforts are making a difference in the kingdom.

cuba3         Cuba Trip
         November 8-13th 2009

We are very excited about our upcoming trip to Cuba. There will be a group of us going to preach, teach, train, baptize, encourage, pray for, and to love on the people there. God is doing a great work in Cuba and it is incredible to get to be a part of it.

Right now we have a network of 1500 churches there which are averaging between 10,000 and 15,000 conversions per month. They are doing a wonderful job of reaching their country for Christ.  Please be praying for them as they continue to be bold in their witness and for us as we travel and partner with these Doulos followers of Christ. Also, please be praying for our families while we are away that the Lord will protect them and keep them well.

In closing, I would love to thank you for your support of our ministry. As many of you know, we believe in investing in nationals so that they can reach their own country with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. Without your financial and prayer support the things that are being accomplishing would not be possible.

Please continue to pray about how you can partner with us. Maybe you feel lead to start or to be a part of one our Doulos Chapters. Maybe the Lord is leading you to head up a golf tournament or to be one of the golfers who are helping us by getting sponsors for them to play. Maybe the Lord wants you to give generously because the Lord has blessed you financially and He wants you to support the thousands of people on the ground that need our help. Maybe he wants you to go with us on one of our trips so that you can see first hand God at work in a place where the people have so little but the ministry is so rich. If you are interested in being more involved with our team, please contact us as soon as possible and we will help you get plugged in.

Thanks again for time spent reading this newsletter and we can't wait to send out the November edition so that we can tell you even more about what is going on in the life of Doulos Partners. Remember, as you go about your regular daily life you may be the only Jesus that someone sees so live accordingly.

Sincerely,
