Greetings!

Happy New Year!  Wishing you peace, health and happiness in 2012!

A new year brings an opportunity to start again with fresh ideas and resolutions.  If you have been away from your fitness regime or yoga practice, make a committment and find your way back to a healthier you, you are worth it!

Core Power will focus on wellness this year and will be offering 30-minute fitness/yoga classes on Rocky Hill Community TV with a show called RH Fit TV.  Once a month the show expands to one- hour which will include local Physical Therapists, Nutritionists, Physicians, Massage Therapists and more!  Check out the RH Fit TV Facebook Page, become a fan and follow for lots of healthful offerings!

This new year brings new territory as a brand new never offered before exciting life changing yoga program begins!  Starting Sat., Feb 4th, Yoga for Bariatric/Non-Bariatric Patients will begin a groundbreaking four week session held at Sacred Rivers Yoga in Glastonbury.  If you know of anyone who has a need or interest for this program, please have them contact me. 

Looking forward to another year in helping you reach your fitness/wellness goals!  Thanks so much for allowing me to continue to provide you with a wide variety of classes, it is a privilege to have your part of our Core Power family!

Classes for the month of January are as follows:
Mondays 5:30pm  Gentle Yoga
Saturdays 8:30am - Yoga Mix
(check website for a variety of offerings each Sat).

*NEWSFLASH!* Beginning Sat., 1/14, drop-in Fat-Free Core Power Workout!  9:45-10:30am

 
Is your workout in need of a makeover? Class incorporates short bursts of cardio alternated with core and strength training.  Class is based upon interval training, best way to burn fat, get your heart in shape and complete a cardio/strength workout all-in-one!
Please bring a sticky mat and a water bottle.
Class is $8.00 drop-in, must pre-register by the Wednesday before class. Limited to 12 participants.

A variety of classes are also held at the Town of RH.  Please continue to check the Parks and Recreation website as well as the Core Power website for class schedules.

How Not to Strength Train
 
Check out this clip from a Cross Fit Training.  This is an example of incorrect form, technique, lack of proper training (you know I am a stickler for form).  Lifting weights is extremely valuable, but as you can see here, going to far with too heavy weight, incorrect and poor form only leads to injuries.

Please note as of 1/1 the Yoga 10 Class Card price has increased to $70.00  Still a great price at $7.00 per class.
Most yoga studio's range their 10-class cards from $120.00 to $160.00.  Drop in still at $11.00.
