Meet the Staff | | | Daniel Trujillo
Dependable is Daniel Trujillo's middle name. This Highland Park graduate has worked at Jayhawk File Express since August 2007 servicing containers on a shred route. "The material we collect is highly confidential," he said, "which is why we keep containers locked inside our locked trucks."
Daniel and his wife Eva, and children Stephanie and Alejandro live in Topeka as do both sides of their extended family. "We get together on holidays and weekends; family is very important to me," he said.
Serving as defensive tackle on the HPHS football team years back, Daniel continues to enjoy being outdoors fishing and watching his son play baseball and quarterback on his football team. "He's smarter than I am!" he said with a big smile.
Daniel says he's very proud of Stephanie, too. "She works to earn the money for her car and college," he said. A strong work ethic spans at least two generations in this family. |

According to the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM), a paperless society is not something we will soon see. A recent AIIM report "Document Scanning and Capture: local, central, outsource - what's working best?" found that 62% of important paper documents are still archived as paper. Even when documents are sent off for archive scanning, 25% are photocopied beforehand "just in case". Less than a third of the paper originals are systematically destroyed after scanning.

Economic Espionage Act of 1996
The Economic Espionage Act (EEA) is a very powerful law that helps with the enforcement of properly handling information. This is the first federal law that defines and severely punishes misappropriation and theft of trade secrets.
A defendant convicted for theft of trade secrets under Section 1832 (which makes the commercial theft of trade secrets a criminal act regardless of who benefits) can be imprisoned for up to 10 years and fined $500,000. Corporations and other establishments can be fined up to $5 million.
However, according to this act, the government will protect only companies that take "reasonable measures" to safeguard their information.
