Meet Randall Hunt, Newly Appointed Deputy Chief of the Office of Community Assistance 

 

Randy Hunt OCA Deputy ChiefOn September 10, Randall Hunt joined the Office of Community Assistance within the Ohio Development Services Agency (formerly the Ohio Department of Development) as the new deputy chief. Mr. Hunt is replacing Nick Sunday - a 30-plus year veteran of the department who retired on April 30. In this position, Mr. Hunt will manage the Office of Community Assistance (OCA) which administers large federal block grant programs, including the Home Energy Assistance Program, the Home Weatherization Assistance Program and the Community Services Block Grant.

MYCAP Organizes Community-Wide Collaborative 

 

MYCAP Collaborative LunchOn August 30 the Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership (MYCAP) hosted its first annual collaborative luncheon in an effort to create comprehensive wrap-around services and a support delivery system for the community. The pilot collaborative project will coordinate programs and services offered by MYCAP and other organizations to shared clients.

It's almost time for the Winter Crisis Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) to begin, and with it, increased numbers of inpatient clients desperate to keep their heat on through the cold winter. Is your staff prepared for the influx of customers? The Ohio Community Action Training Organization (OCATO) can provide free on-site customer service training to members of the Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies (OACAA).
