Opportunity for CAAs to Partner with PNC Financial Services
The Community Action Partnership met with leaders in PNC Fin ancial Services Group to discuss ways that PNC and Community Action Agencies might be able to work together. Will Backstrom, market manager for community development banking is the point person for such PNC community development work in Ohio. He noted that PNC has funded and supported CAAs in some states and by virtue of some recent bank mergers, wants to expand this effort.

Akron Summit Community Action's Head Start Program Receives Three-Star Rating

Eight of Akron Summit Community Action's Head Start locations received the three-star Step Up to Quality rating, the highest rating available from the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services. Step Up to Quality is a voluntary three-star quality rating system administered by ODJFS that recognizes and promotes early care and education programs that meet quality benchmarks over and above minimum health and safety licensing standards.
