Community Action: On the Right Track

   

The OACAA 2012 Annual Summer Conference, scheduled for June 18-20 at the Doubletree Worthington - Columbus, will help keep you on the right track! The conference offers something for everyone with specialized educational tracks for executive directors, board members, program managers, family development and intake workers, as well as fiscal and human resources conferences. Attendees can pick and choose workshops from the different tracks.

Portage County Awarded for Going Green

 Portage County Award

On April 21, 2012, the Community Action Council of Portage County - Energy & Housing Services was honored at the 14th Annual Portage Environmental Conservation Awards Benefit Dinner. The award, presented by the Portage Parks District Foundation, was in the Green Building/Development category for the Home Weatherization Assistance Program, funded under the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

OCATO Offers Bridges Out of Poverty

  

The Ohio Community Action Training Organization (OCATO) offers a number of free training programs to members, including Bridges Out of Poverty, a nationally-known concept that challenges people's perceptions of poverty in order to help individuals, institutions and communities alleviate poverty.
