Wow! what great feedback with regard to the 30 day challenge and many of you were definitely up for it! Yay!
What became clear was that by setting some 30 second and 30 minute goals you were able to carry on for longer and actually do a lot more and of course that is the idea behind the strategy. Often we just need a kick-start to get us motivated.
You see we don't "get motivated" to do something, we do something to get motivated! Glad we got that one sorted and it's great when we realize that and actually take the little steps we need to move forward. Another Yay!
Something else that has reared it's ugly head this year is how many of us keep doing the same thing over and over and yet expect different results. I would like to address that before the New Year Resolutions kick in. (Tip: Don't make any)
If you have tried something more than twice and it didn't work - ditch it! Try something else or turn it upside down, sideways even - but do something different. Approach it with a new mindset.
Example - you have joined a gym 4 times, gone for 3 visits each time then stopped. So you decide to get fit - again - and join a gym - what are the odds that you will go regularly and for the long term?.... Exactly! Zilch. (By the way this may be an option for you at a later stage of your fitness program, just not at the start.)
So do you just give up on the idea of ever being fit? Of course not, you look for a strategy that works for you. You know yourself better than anyone else so don't do what everyone else does, that's just silly and unproductive. Instead, do something that you know is doable for the long term and not too big a stretch at this stage.
I keep banging on about this but it is the small steps done consistently that make the biggest difference in the long term. Tattoo that on your brain....lol
This simple idea applies in all areas of your life, romance, finances, career etc. If it isn't working just look for a new strategy that works for you and stop listening to what other people tell you you SHOULD be doing 'cos they haven't a clue as far as you are concerned, even though they mean well. (we all love these well meaning souls!)
Life isn't meant to be a struggle, and if it is - it means that we are fighting our own natural way of being and need to find out what works for us specifically and in alignement with our values.
When we try to "fit in" with other peoples perceptions, values, goals and beliefs that is when we get out of alignement and begin to see results such as procrastination, fear, low self esteem, lack of confidence to name a few.
When we are trying to be all things to all people it is almost impossible to be us authentically and that leads to the demise of our soul. Our soul suffers from not being nurtured, honoured, exercised and loved in exactly the way our body may deteriorate from lack of exercise and optimal nutrition.
My wish for you as this year ends is to be you and only you NO MATTER WHAT. You will then know the magic of being authentic, whole and powerful as you stand in your own shoes, arms wide open loving who you are and why you are here.
Dare to be great, mediocre is for people who are afraid to be themselves. When you become you, authentically - you have no fear, it dissolves with all your coulds and shoulds and musts. It is replaced with challenge, excitement and optimism and the best part is, it is a mind-set that can be developed.
I know many of you are already on this journey and it is such a joy for me to see this process unfold. I know that you are more than enough and when you finally know that too your life will be a firework display of colour, light and pure energy. Sharing that with others will be your ultimate reward.
