ASP $10 fee required for ALL kids enrolled in an After School Enrichment Program/Club

children

Nickajack PTA is thrilled to welcome back the various vendors and clubs that make us such a wonderful school!  Some new guidelines have been put into place to ensure the children's safety and liability protection for the school.

All parents who plan to have their child participate in an after school club or program must adhere to the following:

  • 1. All children must be enrolled in Nickajack/Cobb County ASP to participate in a club, even if they do not plan to attend ASP.  This requires parents to only pay the $10 fee to become registered in the system. Forms are available in the NES school lobby.  You DO NOT have to SEND YOUR CHILD to ASP. They simply must be enrolled in the system.  This is a safety net for you, your child, and NES should you not be able to pick up your child on time.
  •  2. All children enrolled enrichment and who also attend ASP must be current on ASP fees. If you have an outstanding balance with the county ASP, your child CANNOT attend a club. This will be monitored and reported to ensure compliance.

To REGISTER for ASP in order to participate in the Enrichment programs:

  1. Fill out the appropriate form or register online (if applicable) for the Vendor (payment goes in ORANGE envelope)
  2. Fill out ASP form and include the $10 registration fee (GOLD Envelope)

Envelopes are located outside the front office door.  Please COMPLETE information needed.  Drop all envelopes in BLACK BOX located out side the front office.

Questions?  Please contact PTA Afterschool Enrichment Chair, Tricia Grantham.

Kindness and Compassion Club
Registration Now Open for Nickajack's Kindness and Compassion Club!
Chains

We had a fantastic kick-off to kindness at Nickajack with our Power of One Walk on Wednesday, August 22nd, Georgia's official "Random Acts of Kindness Day."

The Griffin Middle School K2O Club joined some of our fifth grade KC Club members to "spread" kindness by displaying positive messages throughout the Nickajack campus.  We will continue to emphasize the significance of random acts of kindness by continuing our challenge to build the longest kindness chain possible.  All students are encouraged to add a link to the chain whenever they commit an act of kindness or when they observe others doing so.

For the past three years, we have offered students the opportunity to participate in the Rachel's Challenge Kindness and Compassion Club after school.  Students in our KC Club represent leaders in the effort to promote kindness and compassion on the school campus.  They learn about the importance of kindness and giving and about numerous ways that they can make a difference in the lives of others.  KC Club students will participate in school, community, and even global service projects.

If your child is interested in participating in the KC Club this school year, please go to the following link to download a permission form:  K.C. Club Registration.

Meetings will be held on Mondays after school from 2:30 - 3:30 pm.  We will have three clubs this school year: Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd, and 3rd - 5th.  The Kindergarten and 1st - 2nd grade clubs will meet on the same Monday but in different locations.  The 3rd - 5th grade group will meet on alternate Mondays in the Media Center.  We will still have a maximum capacity due to space issues so enrollment will be first come, first serve.  As indicated on the permission form, students will need a teacher's signature to participate in KC Club.

If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact Katy Weihe or 770-745-5460 with any questions.
