PTA Outstanding Volunteers
4th Nine Weeks
Please join us in recognizing and thanking our 4th nine week Outstanding PTA Volunteers!
Rhonda Powell-Woodard
Rhonda has been a very enthusiastic volunteer, asking regularly, "How do I get more involved?" "What else can I do" She took on Box Tops this year and has been training in this weekly newsletter, The Beat. She also helps often in the front office whenever they ask. Her positive attitude and smiling face make her a pleasure to work with . Thank you Rhonda!

The iLs Team:
The following individuals are being recognized for spearheading an exciting new program at Nickajack. Led by PTA parent Dara Fairgrieves, this team introduced iLs to a test group of students at Nickajack. iLs is a multi-sensory program for improving brain function. It strives to globally effect the brain and central nervous system, influencing the following systems: balance, visual, auditory, motor, coordination, behavior and emotional regulation. As team leader, Dara, worked diligently to successfully bring this program to Nickajack. The research and information that she was able to provide to Mrs. Parks, the Area Superintendent and finally the PTA membership, was compelling enough to gain all of our approval. Once approved, Dara then worked to set up implementation of the program. She formed a team and together, they were able to successfully instruct a group of carefully identified students through the program over the course of many weeks. For 11 full weeks, Mon.-Fri., the following individuals gave over 115 volunteer hours to deliver the equivalent of 360 hours of intervention to nine very lucky students, none of which are their own. Please join us in thanking and recognizing these extraordinary volunteers for giving their hearts, sweat and tears, all to help make a difference in the life of a child:
With Extra Special Thanks to Team Leader. If not for her efforts before and during the implementation this program would not have been possible! - Dara Fairgrieves

PTA Outstanding Volunteer of the Year
Lynne Scott
Thank You for Your Service and Dedication!
Our PTA Volunteer of the Year received many nominations this year as she has touched so many areas and so many lives with her cheerful disposition and helpful attitude. For the second year in a row, she has chaired the Welcome Committee for PTA and this year she chaired a most successful Fall Festival for our school's Foundation. And she does not stop there! She helps with AR in her 3rd grade classroom on a regular basis, she is the class room parent, she meets every other week with the 3-5th grade KC Club, she volunteers every Tuesday afternoon to help with the school jogging club and she has been working tirelessly with the iLS team for the last 11 weeks volunteering several afternoons a week. And, there has not been one Volunteer Sign Up this year where Lynne Scott's name has not appeared. Lynne, you are a Parent Volunteer Extraordinaire and you are truly making a difference in all of our children's lives! Thank you for your service and your dedication! Lynne and her son, Topher, after running a 5K with the Nickajack Jogging Club.
