There were plenty of positive adjectives to go around Saturday, as the Crookston community got its first official glimpse of their new Crookston Sports Center. Words like "awesome" and "beautiful" and "amazing" were easy to overhear as people walked in the main doors or strolled around. Someone even said it was "just like Christmas."  But, more than anything, those who attended Saturday's CSC grand opening festivities, summed up their reaction by simply saying, "Wow." The wow factor was definitely off the charts for a facility that is low on glitz and glamour, but high on functionality and, as Mayor Dave Genereux noted enthusiastically in his speech from center ice in the Event Arena, "It's paid for! Now that's something to get excited about!"  While no one was overheard saying that the CSC building, with its three rinks and ample space for all kinds of activities, was "special," that word did sum the day up in a nutshell for the hundreds and possibly thousands of people who came and went throughout Saturday's events.
