Black Umbrellas

Performing Arts Studio West's music class, taught by studio music director Joe Seabe, was so moved by the recent passing of the King of Pop, that they immediately came up with a musical tribute to Michael Jackson.

chuck cast visit The Stars of CHUCK Visit

On July 22nd, PASW performers were excited to host two of the stars from the hit NBC TV show, CHUCK; Patricia Rae & Scott Krinsky.  Not only did they do some q & a, Patricia & Scott  participated in some improv with them too.  It was great fun and everybody learned a lot from the experience.

This is part of PASW's guest speaker program, headed up by acting coach & industry liaison, Diana Jordan, who has been teaching at PASW now for almost 9 years.  Some of PASW's past guests have included Megan Park & Daren Kagasoff from ABC Family's hit TV show, The Secret Life of the American Teenager; Emily Rose from NBC's hit TV show, ER; Kenny Johnson from TNT's hit TV show, Saving Grace; and the musical stylings of Stanley Jordan.
Heidi, the Acting Canine, Plays "Mean Dog"    Glenwood

PASW's first web series, "Sir Glen of Glenwood," now in production, highlights the antics of a middle-aged man living in the inner city, who thinks he's a medieval knight on a mission to do good deeds.  Starring PASW performer, Glen Poehlman, along with a supporting cast of studio talent, this new series of short comedic episodes, produced specifically for PASW's soon to be launched internet/YouTube channel, promises to take the studio to a whole new level of creative and artistic production.

Watch for the upcoming release in September.

About Performing Arts Studio West
Performing Arts Studio West (PASW) is the most unique program of its kind for performers with disabilities. Our mission is to provide an environment in which adults with developmental disabilities can enhance self-esteem, social skills and vocational skills through participation in a performing arts curriculum, professionally developed productions and a vocational training component.

Performing Arts Studio West is setting a standard of excellence throughout the United States and internationally.  PASW is proud of the many classes and opportunities we offer our performers. Preparation for work in the entertainment industry begins with our professional training in acting, music, voice, dance and production.

The studio provides a hands-on approach to individualized training, career management and on-set support for our clients who are working professionally. To date, PASW clients have been cast in over 800 roles in film, television, commercials, theater, music videos, corporate training films, new media projects and print ads.

Performing Arts Studio West is now in its 11th year of giving adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to realize their dreams. PASW has changed the lives of hundreds of adults with disabilities and raised awareness of their talents to millions worldwide. PASW is a one of a kind organization with a unique program made possible by state funding, however, that just covers the basics.  Additional support for special projects, equipment and our capital campaign is needed to continue serving the people who seek our assistance.  Won't you please help us reach our goal?  Please go to www.pastudiowest.com and in the bottom middle of the HOME page click on  SUPPORT PASW, to help us expand our services to those who need us.
