 Salty Diets
Do you have a service project idea for the King Holiday?
Get it funded!

Request funding or register your service project by 5 pm,
Friday, December 2, 2011.

This is the only time of the year when volunteer service project funding is available - don't miss this opportunity. The City of Bloomington Martin Luther King, Jr.  Birthday Celebration Commission has $32,000 in funding to support your projects.

The Volunteer Network encourages you to plan a volunteer project that:
  • Gets necessary things done in the community - address education, public safety, environmental, or other human needs through direct service and citizen action, and strengthen the community through engaging in service - bring people together in pursuit of a common objective of value to the community;
  • Reflects the life and teaching of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. - demonstrate Dr. King's proposition that "Everybody can be great, because everyone can serve";
  • Begins or occurs in significant part on the federal holiday (January 16, 2012) and include on-going volunteer components according to the needs of your organization.
