Indiana Building Nonprofit Hub Online
The state of Indiana is building an online hub for nonprofits looking for state aid.

The online portal will help point nonprofits to state and federal grants and volunteering and training opportunities. The Indiana Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives demonstrated the new tool Wednesday.

Agencies across state government from the Department of Agriculture to the Department of Homeland Security are posting online through the new system. Fourteen agencies in all are participating. Online: http://www.in.gov/ofbci/2602.htm

Bloomington Bicycle Club Grants Available
deadline December 31, 2011
Does it make sense to incorporate a bicycle program of some type into your volunteer program? Perhaps your volunteers commute by bike and would use a bike rack or bike lockers? Maybe volunteers could work with your clientele teaching bike safety or accompanying them to The Bicycle Project to fix their bikes? Get creative!

BBC Bloomington Bicycle Club Grants
The Bloomington Bicycle Club has $10,000 in grant money to award to a variety of community groups, including nonprofit organizations and programs, schools, and other civic-minded organizations.

Goals of the grant program are:

  • Train and educate the community about bicycles and bicycling
  • Promote better public understanding and respect for the rights of bicyclists and the observance of traffic regulations by bicyclists and drivers
  • Promote bicycle safety
Applications are due by December 31. More information can be found on the BBC website: bloomingtonbicycleclub.org/grants
or emailing: grants@bloomingtonbicycleclub.org
