August 17, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Risk management in the nonprofit sector is about improving a nonprofit's chances of survival and success in an environment of uncertainty and occasional turbulence.  Though forecasting the future may be impossible, anticipating the future and preparing are essential.  This fast-paced, interactive workshop will explore the blind spots and barriers that obscure our understanding of risk, and outline practical steps every leader can take to understand and treat risks. This workshop also includes a great amount about managing volunteer risks.
