CASQA's Stormwater Conference Returns to San Diego
Call for Presentations - Exhibiting and Sponsorship News - 2012 Awards Program

CASQA returns to the Hilton San Diego at Mission Bay from November 5-7, 2012 for its 8th Annual Conference. After record northern California attendance in 2011 at Monterey, expectations are high for a great conference in one of our most popular southern California locations.
As always, the CASQA Annual Conference will emphasize training with 3 full days packed with the latest information on stormwater regulations, management, science and technology. The first day will feature 10 half-day workshops on:
Low impact development (2 half-days)
Construction site stormwater management (2 half-days)
Industrial stormwater compliance (2 half-days)
Stormwater manager training (2 half-days)
Legal aspects of TMDLs (half day)
Bacteria regulations and technologies (half day)
The remaining 2 days will include over 80 multi-track presentations (see Call for Presentations below).
The CASQA Annual Conference is the premier event for addressing municipal, industrial and construction stormwater issues.

The theme of this year's Conference is "Solving the Stormwater Compliance Puzzle" focusing on the interlocking, multi-disciplinary skills necessary to manage stormwater quality, change behaviors, assess progress and assure compliance with increasingly complex permits.
Eleven thematic tracks have been identified for the program. A special track will celebrate local, regional and national accomplishments to mark the 40th anniversary of the Clean Water Act and the 25th anniversary of the Water Quality Act amendments that initiated stormwater regulation. The tracks are
as follows:
- Clean Water Act
- Construction permit
- Industrial permit
- Modifying public behavior
- Program assessment
- Regulations, permits and policies
- Scientific advances
- Stormwater treatment
- Sustainable development
- TMDLs in MS4 permits
- True source control
We invite you to be part of this year's program and showcase your work in front of stormwater professionals from across the state and nation. Both long and short presentations will be considered, either 25 or 50 minutes in length, the latter being ideal for an in-depth group or panel format. Abstracts must be submitted through the CASQA web site by the May 18, 2012 deadline. Click here to submit yours.

2012 Awards Program - Call for Nominations
Each year CASQA honors outstanding people, projects and programs in the field of stormwater quality management. CASQA members are invited to submit nominations in any of the following 5 categories by June 29, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.
Leadership Award
Outstanding Stormwater BMP Implementation Project or Program Award
Outstanding Stormwater Research Project or Program Award
Outstanding Stormwater News, Information, Outreach, and Media Award
Outstanding Sustainable Stormwater Project or Program Award
With the exception of the Leadership Award, nominees need not be a member of CASQA or affiliated with a CASQA member. Award winners will be invited to attend the CASQA awards presentation luncheon on November 6, 2012.
