Dear Guests, Clients and Friends
As we bring 2010 to a close my husband John and I, and the entire Culinary Team at Open Kitchen would like to extend to you our heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation for a successful year.
With your support we have embarked on our 2nd year in business and look forward to a successful year in 2011.
We would like to take this opportunity to extend our Best Wishes to three of our team members who have left to pursue other opportunities.
Prior to opening our doors in September 2009, Bernard Henry was hired to serve as the Executive Chef. In the Fall of 2010, he chose to leave Open Kitchen and return to his passion as an independent caterer.
Also hired prior to our opening, Matt Finarelli stepped down from Sous Chef to pursue a dream of having his own independent cooking class business. He continues as an independent contractor with Open Kitchen to conduct cooking classes and also serves as our lead cooking class instructor. Many of you may already have taken a class Matt has provided, however if you haven't you should. They are educational, informative and most of all fun.
Many of our Bistro guests have often times been greeted at the door by Biz Ladwig. Biz joined Open Kitchen in the Spring of 2010. Hired as a Service Manager and Server, she also assisted with internet marketing of the cooking classes. She will be moving to Thailand with her boyfriend to teach English for a year.
They will be missed and we wish all of them the Best of Luck in their new endeavors and where ever life may take them.
Moving forward we would like to officially introduce our culinary team that includes Executive Chef Kenneth C. Hughes, Chef de Cuisine Emily Baran and Line Chef Forest Boyd as well as our newest edition, Garde Manger Chef Eleanor McKenzie. As serious culinarians embracing the farm to table movement here in the DC Metro region, we look forward to preparing our fare for all of you in the near future.
