The popular "Cooking With Beer" class is the highlight of this week's classes, and you don't have to be a beer drinker to participate.  One complimentary glass of wine will be served with your meal with additional available for purchase.  The Easy Weeknight Dinners is almost full, so register early.  As a reminder for all classes, if classes do not meet our minimum requirement five days prior to the date of the class we will cancel due to low enrollment. If there is a class you really want to take, tell your friends and get signed up early.

AM - Hands-on Class: Healthy Cooking: Napa - Monday, September 27, 2010
When the California Cuisine movement came onto the scene in the 1960's, it was a revelation for American cuisine.  Use what's local, what's in season, and only use the best-quality ingredients.  The result was a cuisine that leant itself to be paired with the great wines of the Napa valley when they came on the international scene in the 1970's.  The result is a globally-recognized cuisine style that lends itself easily to healthy eating, and is best enjoyed with a glass of fine wine.

Menu: Grilled Asparagus with Balsamic Vinaigrette, Seasonal Hot and Cold soup Selection, Roasted Orange-Herb Chicken, Lemon Sorbet with Fresh Grapes and Rosemary Syrup.

Beer is a versatile beverage that can add flair and flavor to simple dishes both sweet and savory.  Beer lends itself to many different food preparation techniques, several of which we will be covering in this class. Come learn how to cook a variety of foods with a wide range of different beers, and then sit back and enjoy a wonderful meal accompanied by a professional beer tasting.

We don't always have the time for making bread at home, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy fresh-made bread.  In this class, learn the tips and tricks to mastering the quick breads that can make fabulous additions to meals any time.

Hands-on Class:  Easy Weeknight Dinners - Tuesday, September 28, 2010

In this very practical class, you will end the question of what's for dinner tonight.  Using the concept
of pantry cooking, you will learn from our "mock" pantry set up what products to always have on hand to prepare foods in a jiffy.  You will learn secrets of kitchen organization and clever time saving techniques that there will be no excuses to not eat home anymore.  And best of all, the techniques you will learn are easy and healthy.  We'll set up a "mock" pantry with all kind of staple food items and take the students through it so they can learn how to set up their kitchens properly

Dine-Only Option
Does your spouse, friend, or partner love to cook, but you just love to eat? Well you can now join them at the end of their cooking class and savor the menu they have prepared. Open Kitchen has launched our Dine-Only Cooking Class Participation for individuals affiliated with the students taking our classes.

For just $25.00 you will be able to join your student one hour before the end of the class and sit down to the meal prepared by the students. Your meal is accompanied by one glass of wine, with additional beverages available for purchase. Pre-registration is required to attend so we can be sure to make enough food for everyone. And please note that all Class & Event Policies apply to all guests, eg. registration, cancellation, dress code, etc.
