Wednesday, September 1st. As
the kids head back to school, Open Kitchen kicks off the September
Cooking Class schedule with "Back to School" - Healthy Lunches to Make for Your Kids. Learn some great recipes and take the worry out of
packing a healthy lunch. When your kids show up in the cafeteria, they will
be the envy of all their classmates.
Tuesday, September 7th. At
the request of many of our class participants, we are delivering an
Eggs 101 class. From Souffles to Sauces, you'll learn all about one of
the staples of the kitchen.
Wednesday, September 8th Back by popular demand, Knife Skills - Seeking out the Cutting Edge will be offered again. This class, a mainstay at Open Kitchen, will be presented by Chef Matt Finarelli. Class fills up fast so register early.

Monday, September 13th Chef
Matt will share the tastes of Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia
with Healthy Cooking: Southeast Asia. Robust, Sweet, Salty and spicy
flavors, the food of Southeast Asia has a character all it's own.
Tuesday, September 14th Not all cooking is about making food for dinner parties and large familes. Sometimes you have the house to yourself, and you want to do something more than just ordering pizza or microwaving a burrito. This class will teach you some fun, simple and easy dishes you can make for yourself any time, and that you don't need a crowd around you to help you make - or enjoy! Cooking for One
Wednesday, September 15th Does cooking seafood make you nervous? Coming Out of the Shell- Intro to Shellfish is more than just raw
oysters and fried clam strips. This class will introduce you to the
many dishes that can be made from these succulent bivalves.
Monday, September 20th Katharine
Mardirosian, Owner of "100 Bowls of Soup" will be returning with Chef Matt
Finarelli to share a couple more of her favorite soups. Matt will
share Open Kitchen's Focaccia recipe. Together they will present Bread and Soup: The Perfect Comfort Food Class.
Tuesday, September 21st The newest member of
our culinary team, Rebekah Lin Jewell will present Dim Sum & Tea Tasting- The Perfect Asian Brunch. A variety of Dim Sum paired with
teas to cleanse the palate will be the focus of the class.
Wednesday, September 22nd Chef Matt shares the secrets of little
bites of Spain with September in Sevilla - The Tapas of Southern Spain.
Monday, September 27th Back
for an encore, Chef Matt will present Cooking with Beer which was a
popular class earlier this year. Accompanying this class will be a
professional beer tasting.
Tuesday, September 28th For those busy nights of after school
activities, Robyn Webb will present Easy Weeknight Dinners. She'll
first tell you how to set up your pantry so you have all the products
on hand to make meals in a jiffy and they share a few of her easy,
quick and healthy recipes. |
Dine-Only Option
| Does your spouse, friend, or partner
love to cook, but you just love to eat? Well you can now join them
at the end of their cooking class and savor the menu they have
prepared. Open Kitchen has launched our Dine-Only
Cooking Class Participation for individuals affiliated with the students
taking our classes.
For just $25.00 you will be able to join your student one hour before
the end of the class and sit down to the meal prepared by the students.
Your meal is accompanied by one glass of wine, with additional beverages
available for purchase. Pre-registration is required to attend so we
can be sure to make enough food for everyone. And please note that all
Class & Event Policies apply to all guests, eg. registration,
cancellation, dress code, etc.
