Open Kitchen to launch "Cuisine Tech Program"

An excellent opportunity lays in store for "foodies" interested in learning more about the culinary world. Open Kitchen's Volunteer Cuisine Tech Program is designed for individuals to interact behind the scenes with chefs, artisan food producers and wine producers in exchange for their volunteer assistance. Program participants will be introduced to new cooking tips and techniques, receive class recipe packets and earn FREE class or event credits. Previous culinary experience is not required to participate, just common sense, dedication to helping the class instructor and a customer-oriented attitude. Cooking Class Schedule
We have lined up a core team of instructors who are passionate about cooking and sharing their techniques, practical application, and culinary experiences that will make you comfortable and confident in the kitchen whether you're a beginning cook or a seasoned food enthusiast. Designed for the home chef, our exciting and delicious array of cooking classes will begin September 1st. We will begin introducing our instructors in next month's newsletter. The schedule of upcoming classes will be posted beginning in July.

Coffee & Tea Bar
Open Kitchen has incorporated a Coffee & Tea Bar into the floor plan of the Bistro. For that quick "jolt of java" before heading to work, or gathering with friends for a mid-day "coffee clatch", Open Kitchen will feature locally roasted coffees from M.E. Swings Coffee Roasters in Alexandria, VA. A Washington D.C. tradition for over 90 years, M.E. Swings Coffee will be ground and brewed fresh throughout the day. Our coffee is just one way to experience the culinary journey of Open Kitchen's Coffee & Tea Bar. We will also offer hand-blended teas, as well as freshly baked goods produced by our clients in the rental kitchens. Our display case will offer quick breakfast and lunch items for those who wish to "grab n' go."

Open Kitchen joins Falls Church Chamber of Commerce
In keeping with our mission to support our community and local business, Open Kitchen recently joined the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce. We look forward to being active with the Chamber, Falls Church and the surrounding communities.

VA Commerce Bank
Our neighbors, the VA Commerce Bank, will be holding their grand opening celebration on Saturday June 13th. We look forward to having them as neighbors and collaborating on future community events. Welcome VA Commerce Bank!
