AT LAST, A HOME TO HANG OUR POTS & PANS!
It is with great pleasure and enormous excitement that we announce Open Kitchen has found a home to share with you, our culinary friends!
Two years of rethinking and reshaping the "vision" and Open Kitchen has now evolved into an exciting new concept for those who love to Eat, Cook and Entertain. Open Kitchen will be a welcoming, lively and engaging venue where:
- Food and wine lovers gather to enjoy seasonally inspired handmade food, local wines, as well as made-from-scratch baked goods and freshly roasted coffees
- Cooking enthusiasts go "behind-the-scene" with our professionally trained chefs in hands-on or demonstration-style cooking classes, followed by unique dining experiences
- Local food entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses
- Local growers and food producers promote and sell their products
 Our new home located at the West Metro Plaza, Falls Church, is scheduled to open in Summer 2009 following an extensive build-out. The facility, located in Suite 107, will include an open/exhibition kitchen featuring a Bistro & Wine Bar, which will serve dual duty. Breakfast and lunch being served during the day and a variety of cooking classes offered in the evenings and on weekends. In addition, two commercially licensed kitchens -- one equipped for bakers and the other for caterers -- will be ready for those of you in the food business to rent by the hour, day, week or month. And finally , there will be a small Marketplace for the retailing of local artisan products, ranging from jams, jellies, and baked goods to culinary apparel and gift items. A special treat for those dining at the Bistro will be the open-air terrace for outside dining. Under the leadership of our talented Head Chef, Bernard Henry, and our creative in-house caterer, A Tasteful Journey, Open Kitchen will also be available for private business and social catering events.
The encouraging responses we have received from those who are interested in renting our commercial kitchens as well as those who have attended our cooking classes in the past months have been overwhelming. We will keep you posted in our progress in the coming months.
