Greetings Everyone,
We have compiled a list of frequently asked questions that will help in your planning for the Festival At Sea Cruise 2010. Additionally, we have 2010 brochures available upon request.
When booking your cruise, please be sure to include our group name (Blue Waters & White Sands) and code (#970). Also, we are designing t-shirts, so everyone can participate in the group photo day on the cruise. Details on ordering t-shirts will be coming soon.
Finally, we are setting up a distribution list specifically for individuals that have asked to be updated on the cruise activities. If you have not done so, please notify us asap. As this will be the last cruise update sent to our "General" distribution list.

Festival At Sea Frequently Asked Questions & Reservation Process Q: What makes this cruise different from any other cruise? A: The host travel agency (Blue World Travel) is African-American owned. The cruise entertainment and activities are targeted specifically to African-Americans. There are approximately 3000 African-American's that attend the cruise each year. Q: Who sponsors the Festival At Sea cruise and how long has this event been in existence? A: This will be Blue World Travel's 19th year sponsoring the cruise.
Q: Do I need a passport?
A: Passports are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, just in case an emergency arises where you need to fly in to or out of an island (i.e. family emergency, you miss the ship in one of the ports, etc). However, a proof of citizenship (birth certificate) is sufficient since you are leaving/returning from/to the united states.
Q: How much does the cruise cost? A: The cost of the cruise depends on the cabin type (interior, window, balcony, etc) and on which deck the cabin is located. Cabin prices range from $1199 - $3199 per person. Room rates are based on double occupancy. Q: Do my roommate and I have to book at the same time? A: If you are booking a cabin with a balcony, you and your roommate have to book together (same day). A2: If you are booking a cabin with a window or an interior cabin, you and your roommate must book within 7-10 days of each other. Q: What are my options if I don't have a roommate? A: Blue World Travel will match you with a roommate. If you don't want Blue World Travel to match you with a roommate, you can pay for two people and find your own roommate. Q: Should I purchase Trip Insurance and how much is it? A: We suggest obtaining trip insurance, just in case a situation arises where you are unable to attend and you will receive a full refund. Trip insurance costs $80-$150 per person. Q: What is included in the cost of the cruise? A: The cost includes: lodging, food & all on-ship activities. Q: What is NOT included in the cost of the cruise? A: Airfare, alcoholic beverages, hotel expenses for pre-cruise party, ground transportation, off-ship activities (water sports, island tours, etc) are not included. Q: Is there a deposit/payment plan for the cruise? A: There is a $250 discount for persons that pay the $250 deposit by 10/31/09. Minimum monthly installments are $250. The final balance is due by May 1, 2010. Q: Does the travel agency offer "auto-pay" or are payments made manually? A: Auto-pay is offered and charges are processed on the 1st, 8th, 15th or 22nd of each month. Manual payments are due based on the date identified on the monthly invoice. Q: Where and when does the cruise debark? A: Sunday August 1st from Miami, Florida, returning Sunday August 8th. Q: Are there any pre-cruise activities? A: Yes, July 30th and 31st guests will be staying at the Marriott Biscayne Bay Hotel & Marina for the pre-party. Log on to the Festival At Sea website (www.festivalatsea.com), select Caribbean '10 and review the "Cabin Prices", "Carnival Valor Deck Plan" and then complete the on-line reservation form.
