Dwell in Possibility

 Emily Dickinson once stated,

"I Dwell inPossibility"

What an  exciting and anticipatory way to greet the dawn of each new day!

We make New Year's Resolutions because we believe in possibilities and that we will see them become reality.    The "Tips" for this month assist those who want to improve their health through exercise.   However,  they also serve as reminders of good health practices for all of us.

Speaking of those resolutions, it is not too late to start now.  If you missed the first days of the new year, all the  more reason to make  today  your  new beginning.    Stop now and do it for yourself and those who love you.

Every day is  a gift from God,  brimming with possibilities only limited by our minds.

     Embrace your possibilities today!

Blessings for all of your days,
                                     Pam

and I love today"

Toxin-free Tips for Exercise and Fitness

Running and Jogging

Running or jogging outdoors may pose particular health problems.  You are inhaling particles from exhaust pipes, which can become embedded in the lungs.   Experts feel that particulate pollution may cause up to 10,000 heart disease deaths yearly.  Try to run in an area away from traffic, such as a quiet neighborhood, around a lake, or a park.

In Health Clubs.........

Be particularly aware of cleaning agents which may be strong and try to move away from an area where you notice the strong odor of harsh chemicals.  Again, remember you are taking deeper breaths, filing your lungs while exercising.

As you use equipment, remember others have used it before you.  Sweat is the body's way of releasing toxins.   Experts differ on whether sweat is clean or drops of toxins.  At the very least, it creates a pool of moisture, a breeding ground for bacteria.

Place  a towel on euqipment seats, stretching  tables, or  floor pads.

Wipe mats and equipment before and after use. Alcohol or
disinfectant cloths are preferred.

Consider taking your own mat for floor exercises.

Be aware of not touching your mouth, nostrils, and eyes while
in the gym.   This exposes you to the germs of others, which can directly enter your body through your touch.

Remember our initial  Hidden Toxin Report concerning germs tracked inside on our shoes.   This is important to remember at the gym as well.  Sitting on the floor, or using mats that have been left on the floor exposes the user to a host of undesirable toxins.

Speaking of the floor and what may be tracked in, remember to wear flip flops in the pool, hot tub, steam room and shower areas.    Another place to pick up fungus as well as bacteria.

At first glance it will be obvious if gyms are kept clean, but remember the cleanest of gyms still have surfaces touched by many others.  Be aware of washing your hands with SOAP and water, particularly as you leave the gym.

Again from our Hidden Toxins Report, remember the fabric of
your t-shirt.   Organic cotton is safer than pesticide -treated
cotton, bleached with chlorine.  Do you really want those chemicals going into your open pores as you perspire?

Restrictive clothing can inhibit circulation of lymph allowing toxins to accummulate.  Wear clothing that allows freedom of movement.

Toxin-free exercise is taking the extra steps,
maximizing  and enhancing the benefits of your workout.
Enjoy the results.  See new  possibilities!

A personal note
from Pam
relating to the topic
of the month........

Last summer my husband , Ken, contracted "Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus  aureus, "  commonly known as Staph infection.
In spite of treatments it was difficult to cure, being an infection that can reoccur, and his did ---  5 times.

Once it was thought this was found only in patients after hospital stays, but it is now common in everyday life.  Sporting facilities and schools are becoming common areas of concern.  (This includes gyms)

For identification purposes, it begins as a red bump, then becomes a boil, then it spreads quickly.

For the purposes of  a personal  web search, it is referred to as MRSA , and there are numerous resources available.  There was wide-spread publicity when several sports celebritites contracted MRSA.

Please be aware this has become an epidemic in some schools.   It can become serious, even to the point  of threatening the patient's life.   I encourage you to become familiar with the signs and symptoms, in order to seek medical advice and treatment as soon as possible.

To read more about it:
from there search MRSA

By the way,  Ken has fully recovered and doing fine.

As we look toward the days ahead.......

A   prayer  for America

Strength and honor be our guide,
both days and nights.
Protect us, Lord,
from those inner fights.

Use our tears to cleanse the soul,
Not to seek revenge untold.

When corruption appears
to be the way,
Let truth and dignity
rule the day.

Amen.
