Resilient Frisch wins 4th national title
frischAs the first man down the hill in Sunday's super-G, Jeffrey Frisch threw caution to the wind and charged down the course to claim his fourth national title at the GMC Canadian Championships. Frisch took top honours ahead of Dustin Cook and Jan Hudec.

Gagnon confirms super-combi dominance
gagnonMarie-Michèle Gagnon completed a hat trick of national super-combined titles Sunday with a dominant performance at the GMC Canadian Championships. The 21-year-old from Lac-Etchemin, Que., finished almost 1.5 seconds ahead of her nearest rival with a combined time of 1 minute, 40.52 seconds in Nakiska, Alta.

justineMontreal's Justine Dufour-Lapointe earned the dual moguls national championship by beating both of her older sisters Sunday at the Canadian freestyle ski championships. The 2011 FIS Rookie of the Year beat sister Maxime in the quarterfinals, then bested teammate Beatrice Bilodeau in the semifinals to meet up with sister Chloe in the finals.

Riml leaves Alpine Canada to rejoin USSA
rimlAthletic director Patrick Riml is leaving Alpine Canada to return to the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, ACA President Max Gartner confirmed Friday. Riml came to Alpine Canada from the USSA prior to the start of the 2008-09 season and leaves on a high, only a few weeks after Erik Guay's world championship-winning downhill run in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.

Maltais wraps up snowboardcross crystal
MaltaisCanadian snowboarder Dominique Maltais of Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, Quebec, finished fourth Thursday in the snowboardcross race in Arosa, Switzerland, the sixth stop on the 2011 LG Snowboard FIS World Cup tour, and in doing so captured the prestigious crystal globe given to the athlete with the most accumulated points in the discipline over the entire season.
