Guay eclipses Read with 15th career podium
GuaySwiss skier Beat Feuz earned his first World Cup win Friday, beating pre-race favourites Didier Cuche and Erik Guay in a men's downhill. The result is the 15th World Cup podium of Guay's career and moves him ahead of retired Canadian ski racing legend and Crazy Canuck Ken Read, who had 14.

Cook, of Lac Sainte-Marie, Que., is third in the overall Nor-Am standings with 587 points, 191 behind leader Thomas Biesemeyer of the USA.

Italy's Origone hits 174 kph at Sun Peaks
Speed skiingIt was a day for pushing limits on the last day of the Subaru Velocity Challenge, as athletes in each category competed for prestige and cash prizes. Italian speed skier Ivan Origone took the cake in the Men's Speed 1 category with a blistering time of 174.72 kph, while Sanna Tidstrand from Sweden won the Speed Ladies division at 170.65 kph.
