Canada's Harvey sprints to 2nd in Norway
HarveyCanada's Alex Harvey captured silver Sunday in a cross-country skiing World Cup sprint race in an ideal warmup for the upcoming World Championships. The skier from St-Ferreol-les-Neiges, Que., made his move in the final third of the race to record his best-ever World Cup result, missing gold by just 0.6 seconds.

Hard-charging Cousineau: Podium is coming
CousineauCanada's Julien Cousineau came agonizingly close to the podium Sunday, finishing fifth in the slalom on the final day of the World Championships at Garmisch-Partenkirchen. "I'm starting to get tired of being fifth," he said. "I want to get on the podium. I can't wait. I know it's coming - I've just got to keep doing what I'm doing."

Kucera recovering from tibia surgery
KuceraCanadian Alpine Ski Team racer John Kucera is hoping to be back on his skis by the fall after undergoing surgery to repair an undisplaced fracture of his left tibia. The 2009 downhill world champion from Calgary, Alta., reinjured his tibia Wednesday when he crashed while forerunning in Aspen, Colorado.

Seb Toots rules big-air in Quebec City
TootsCanadian snowboarders delivered a 1-2 punch under the bright Saturday night lights in downtown Quebec City at the last big-air contest on the 2011 LG Snowboard FIS World Cup Tour. Local star Sebastien Toutant of L'Assomption, Que., known as Seb Toots in the snowboard industry, took home first place despite nursing a rib injury, while Matts Kulisek of Montreal took second.
